This article is about the GoBots Guardian. For the Generation 1 Autobot, see Rest-Q (G1){{#switch:{{#sub:Rest-Q (G1)|-1}} != .= ?= .

Rest-Q is a Guardian from the GoBots continuity family.
So evil he copyright infringes.

Rest-Q is a Guardian medic and so of course he turns into an ambulance. He used to suffer from a case of foreign vocoder syndrome, causing random words from other languages to pop up in his speech, but he's all better now! Unless he has to wear a brand new body for some reason but what are the chances?

Renegade Rhetoric

[edit]

When Cy-Kill discovered a cyber-mimetic virus at an ancient temple in the Himalayas, he wasted no time unleashing it on the Guardians. Fortunately, Rest-Q developed a cure that managed to save his fallen friends. The Best Medicine Rest-Q reported via Astro-Beam when Leader-1 was seriously injured fighting Cy-Kill. He confirmed Leader-1 was reliving his own nightmares and memories of failure, keeping him in a comatose state. Still, A.J. and the Guardians managed to change the narrative, reminding Leader-1 of all the good he had accomplished, and the Guardian commander soon recovered. Nightmares of a Leader

Timelines

[edit]
Not called "Cupcake".

When the whole universe was threatened by a Cataclysm, Rest-Q was given a new body and sent as part of a three-man cross-faction team to join Path Finder in saving the day. He was glad to see her team was in good health but inadvertently started a spat between Man-O-War and Path Finder's group when he asked where the AWOL Bug Bite was.

When the team split in two, Rest-Q and the other ground 'bots came under Treds's command. Sunrise

They traveled over land for a time until they reached the outskirts of Oregon. Road Ranger was complaining about low energy reserves after having to carry Treds' bulky tank mode on his flatbed, so Rest-Q called for a pit-stop. He gave Road Ranger a once-over with his diagnostic hand and discovered a leak in Ranger's fuel line. The doc quickly patched him up (well, he accelerated the cyborg patient's pre-existing self-repair capabilities, but same difference).

When the ground patrol reached the general area of the Autobot Ironworks, they grew suspicious of the lack of radio traffic from their advance fliers. Scouting the area, Rest-Q and the Go-Bots attracted the attention of the negative polarity Autobot Stepper. High Noon

After passing their attacker, Rest-Q and the GoBots entered the Iron Works and reconnected with their advance team. As they prepared to continue on to the next leg of their journey, Rest-Q noted the team would need considerable repairs before seeing action again. Journey's Eve After a night's rest, the group separated again to maximize their speed to their destination. Rest-Q was among those left behind while Path Finder guided the team forward. Last Sunset

Go-Bots comic

[edit]

Rest-Q was built by humanity to serve as a self-driving ambulance/doctor. Go-Bots #1 During the beginnings of the Go-Bot insurrection, Rest-Q picked up an injured human on the pretense of helping, only to commit what the Go-Bot obliquely referred to as "surgery". Go-Bots #2

At some point during the downfall of mankind and construction of Gobotron, Rest-Q joined with Leader-1. Rest-Q was present during Turbo's botched attempt to save Scooter from having his mind wiped by Leader-1; despite the medic's warnings, Turbo accidentally lobotomized his chum with his rashness. Go-Bots #5 Rest-Q was later a crewmember of the Command Center when it returned to the organic core of the planet, otherwise known as Earth. Go-Bots #3 After an ad hoc force of Guardians, Renegades, and unaligned Go-Bots finally vanquished Zod, Rest-Q attended to the injured Screw Head and Leader-1. However, after the latter was strafed by Cy-Kill with the stolen Command Center, Rest-Q realized there was nothing that could be done to save Leader-1, who died from his wounds. Go-Bots #4

Notes

[edit]
A conspicuously unused other prototype Mini-Vehicle deco? We're sure that won't come up in the future.
