Rick is a human from the Legends anthology portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Rick is a car thief who doesn't like Volkswagens, regarding them as cramped girly cars and labeling them "slug bugs". This future Jeremy Clarkson sports a greasy mullet and heavy metal t-shirt.

While Rick and fellow car thief Jack were checking out cars in a high school car park, Jack took a liking to a yellow VW. Though Rick was reluctant, wanting to find something more sporty, Jack talked him into stealing the bug. Having hotwired the car, Rick drove it out of town, at which point it suddenly developed a mind of its own, speeding and going offroad while Rick let out a steady stream of curses. Bumblebee eventually returned to the high school car park and asked Rick if he still thought VWs were no match for a sports car. Rick was forced to admit the Autobot had a point, and the two would-be thieves were sent packing. Joyride
