When a Pinky Swear just isn't enough.

The Rite of Oneness is one of the most sacred Cybertronian rituals. No Autobot has ever broken it. It is used to cement agreements. All participants contribute a bit of their most precious bodily fluid—their fuel—into a vessel. The fuel is then burned. To break the pact is to forfeit one's very life.

Ratchet convinced Megatron to leave the Ark and allow him to tend to the wounded Autobots captured therein, on the condition that Ratchet defeat Shockwave. To seal this deal, Ratchet and Megatron participated in the Rite of Oneness. Warrior School!

In response to images that purported to show the Dinobots defeating Shockwave, Megatron revealed to Ratchet that he had no intention of honoring the Rite. This freed Ratchet to ambush Megatron. Repeat Performance!
