Rite of the Deceptibrand
The Rite of the Deceptibrand<ref>Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac</ref> is a ritual that is used by the Decepticons and involves branding their symbol into a new Transformer after an oath of loyalty is given. The branding is not exactly a painless procedure.

[edit]Once the Constructicons had proven their use, Megatron allowed them to undergo the Rite of the Deceptibrand to make them true Decepticons. The oath went as follows:
I pledge my unquestioning loyalty to Megatron and the Decepticon cause. I shall devote my spark to achieving our goal of a Decepticon controlled Cybertron, by any means necessary. And annihilate all who have driven us from our rightful homeworld. Surrender is not an option.

2005 IDW continuity
[edit]The Rite can only be formally and officially performed by Megatron or one of the Conclave. According to Drift, they take a part of the subject's spark casing and mold it into one of their badges. Notes
[edit]- During the Rite, the Constructicons also changed color, from a yellow-gray scheme to the traditional green-purple. Whether this is part of the Rite per se is unknown.
