S.S. is an Autobot Mini-Con from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.

S.S. (エスツー Esutsū) is the Arms Micron partner of Smokescreen. He's a copycat, did you know?

Prime cartoon

[edit]
S.S. only appears in the Arms Micron Theater segments of the Japanese broadcast of Prime.
Voice actor: Kazuyuki Okitsu (Japanese){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}

While hanging around in the Arms Micron Gym, S.S. approached B.H., who was annoyed by how casually the younger Micron was addressing him and demanded he speak more respectfully. S.S. argued that he was the best hunter in the universe and B.H.'s equal, which the elder Micron might have accepted if S.S. hadn't treated B.B. with utmost respect just seconds later. New Star Transformation! Enter Smokescreen! He later thought up a new Combo Weapon, the Stragy Gun, which annoyed B.H. further since he formed the bottom of the weapon while S.S. himself formed the top. Manmade Transformation! The Warrior of Destruction is Back On the final installment of Arms Micron Theater, S.S. fist-bumped B.H. before joining the rest of the Arms Microns in saying goodbye to the audience. Prime

[edit]
  • Smokescreen (Deluxe, 2012)
  • Set ID number: AM-26
  • Micron ID number: M-28
  • Release date: November 24, 2012
  • Energon Crystal: SP Magne
Part of the eighth wave of TakaraTomy Prime toys, S.S. transforms from a humanoid robot into a crossbow. S.S. features two 5mm posts and a single peg-hole as part of the Arms Micron gimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
The assembly instructions contain a rather nasty error. The two rods connecting the backpack to the main body have a ridge in the middle. If one follows the instructions, the wings and the backpack end up on either side, which makes the connection unstable as the rods are too short on one end and too long on the other. For a better working result, first slide the wings over the ridges, then slide the rods into the backpack, wing end first so they end up on the same side. The ridges then act as stoppers between the main body and the backpack, which should make the connection more secure.
As a "Magne" crystal type, his main combination is with Sou and L.P. as the Leonid Tonfa Super Combo Weapon.
He was only available packed in with the Deluxe Smokescreen toy, coming out of the package as a bunch of unpainted parts on runners, like a model kit. His extra deco is provided by customer-applied foil stickers on a sheet he shares with Smokescreen.
This mold was also used to make Jin, Timelines Stylor, and Burn.

Notes

[edit]
  • You may have guessed it already, but S.S. copies B.B.'s naming style, with Smokescreen instead of Bumblebee.
  • S.S. looks a whole lot like Generation 1 Devcon, especially the head and the right arm with the laser. This is presumably a roundabout reference to "The Gambler", which had Generation 1 Smokescreen hanging out with Devcon.
  • He shares his Micron ID number with Shining R.A.. Given that Micron ID numbers are used for mold identification and repaints usually don't get one, Shining R.A. getting a number may be a goof-up.
