SETI

SETI or the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence is an activity revolving around searching for alien life. This is plainly a ridiculous idea as aliens don't exist.

Huxley Prescott had Doc Greene build a SETI dish so he could try to weed out alien invaders in Griffin Rock. Unfortunately the only transmission he received was audio from the movie The Natives of Tatooie, which he mistook for an alien invasion. In his eagerness to report on this, he left the dish on maximum power. The drain knocked out power across the town, and threatened to cause a power surge that would blow up the power station, potentially taking a large chunk out of the island. Consequently the dish had to be destroyed by the Rescue Bots. The Alien Invasion of Griffin Rock

Some years later, Cody Burns and Frankie Greene built a listening telescope that they claimed was more powerful than the SETI organization's entire assets. The telescope successfully made contact with the Velgrox. After the Velgrox invaded Griffin Rock, the telescope, still in contact with the Velgrox ship, was successfully able to pinpoint its location to the power plant. New Normal
