The Second Cybertronian War, sometimes known as the Great War, was a conflict in various negative polarity universes primarily between the evil Autobot Imperium and the heroic Decepticon resistance. Started by the mad tyrant Optimus Prime out of a personal desire to carve a legacy for himself, the Second Cybertronian War brought an end to Cybertron's Golden Age. It tends to end up moving offworld.

• While the war between the evil Autobots and the heroic Decepticons has often been called the "Second Cybertronian War", no details were ever revealed as to what the First Cybertronian War of the Shattered Glass continuity entailed. Though it obviously predated the Golden Age.
