Shinji Aramaki
Shinji Aramaki (荒牧 伸志 Aramaki Shinji), born October 2, 1960, is a veteran Japanese mecha designer and animation director. Currently considered a leading figure in Japanese 3DCG animation, his primary claim to fame is as the director of the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Appleseed (manga)#Anime|{{#if:Appleseed|Appleseed|Appleseed (manga)#Anime}}]] film franchise, but his lengthy career includes mech design for productions such as the M.A.S.K. franchise and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, also known as the third season of Jetfire's old nemesis [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Robotech|{{#if:||Robotech}}]]. In Transformers, he designed several Micro Change toys that would eventually become Transformers, as well as the pre-Transformer versions of the Deluxe Insecticons.

[edit]- In 2004, Aramaki was asked to help create a CG Transformers TV series to coincide with the 2007 film, the project was shelved but Aramaki did create at least two designs for Optimus and his super mode.<ref>Twitter post of Aramaki discussing the cancelled TF CG series</ref>
