Kiss Players

In 2005, Shizuku was innocently studying in school when her world went up in flames—literally. Having been hurled out of Unicron by Rodimus Prime, the Decepticon leader Galvatron's voyage through space came to an end when he violently crash-landed on Earth in the middle of Tokyo, reducing the city to a smoldering crater and killing Shizuku, among millions of others. The loss of her daughter transformed Shizuku's mother from a mild-mannered scientist into a fervent anti-Transformer campaigner who was instrumental in the formation of the anti-Transformer organization, the Earth Defense Command.

Soon, it was discovered that Galvatron's Unicron-empowered cells had been scattered across the planet, fusing with other lifeforms to create monstrous creatures known as Legion and super-powered humans that the EDC recruited and trained as Kiss Players. Discovering that the essence of her daughter had somehow been infused into the Legions along with their Galvatron cells, Hitoshizuku's fractured mind conceived of a plan to resurrect Shizuku in the body of a Kiss Player. Experimenting with Galvatron's corpse, severed Legion body parts and Kiss Players who had outlived their usefulness in the secret Genital System beneath EDC headquarters, Hitoshizuku intended to use EDC Kiss Player Shaoshao Li as her subject, but then changed her mind when she discovered the even more powerful Atari Hitotonari and recruited her into the EDC. Shaoshao and Hot Rod later witnessed the spectral image of Shizuku, bleeding and dressed entirely in black, riding on the shoulder of a Legion. When Hot Rod lowered his visor to scan the girl, she abruptly vanished into the Legion, causing Hot Rod to suspect that she might be the Legion's Kiss Player... until he realized that the girl had not been giving off any body heat. Kiss Players #32 The pair saw the image of the girl again as a mass of Legions converged on Optimus Prime and Marissa Faireborn, Kiss Players #35 who proceeded to lead the creatures in an all-out attack against the EDC's headquarters. With the spectral form of Shizuku at their side, the Legions began tearing into the EDC headquarters, and the united team of Prime, Hot Rod, Marissa, Shaoshao and Atari followed them into the secret Genital System facility below the building, where Amaō had been conducting her experiments. Kiss Players #37 Amaō initated her plan and attempted to revive Shizuku in Atari's body, but Atari fought the process and escaped the underground lab with Galvatron's lifeless body, into which all the Legions', Autroopers' and Kiss Players' cells were re-absorbed. Shizuku's ghost appeared one last time, before her mother, who then perished as the lab caved in on top of her. Me, You, and the Spinning Earth
