Oh sure, Hot Rod steals center stage, JUST LIKE ALWAYS.

Shotbomber (ショットボンバー Shottobonbā) is the Micromaster partner to the Autobot Sky Garry, and helps him take on the armies of Dark Nova.

Released in the Return of Convoy part of the original Takara Transformers toyline, Shotbomber transforms into a Cybertronic twin missile-launcher tank. The twin missiles can raise and lower, but are a single plastic piece not meant to be removed. He does not feature one lick of paint.
He was only available with his larger partner Sky Garry, whose "base" mode has several gimmicks intended for use with Micromasters.
This set comes from an era where most of the Takara releases use laminated paper decals with notoriously weak adhesive, which makes the numerous smaller decals (like Shotbomber's side windows) very, very likely to fall off and get lost.

Notes

[edit]
  • Shotbomber was redecoed as the "Missile Gear" mecha for Takara's Brave of Gold Goldran toyline, included with Sky Garry's "Death Garrygun" redeco. In the accompanying show, Missile Gear was mass-produced by the series' antagonistic faction, the Walzac Republic Empire.
