Cyberverse cartoon

[edit]

As part of Cheetor's trials to determine the owner of the AllSpark, he procured the Sky Turbine from parts unknown through a GroundBridge for Optimus Prime's use. The Allspark turned the jet into armor for him, which he used to fight Megatron and his own helicopter-themed upgrade. This lasted until Starscream managed to steal the Allspark, causing the armor to lose its power and fall off. Trials

The Sky Turbine was later seen in its original form, abandoned, still in the cave where Optimus and Megatron's fight took place. Starscream remarked that it wouldn't fit Sky-Byte, as he was already the undisputed predator of the skies. Infinite Vendetta

Toys

Cyberverse

[edit]
  • Optimus Prime (Elite Class, 2019)
  • TakaraTomy Name: Wingfire Optimus Prime
  • TakaraTomy release date: September 2019
  • TakaraTomy ID number: TCV-16
  • Accessories: "Sky Turbine" Spark Armor
Part of the first wave of Cyberverse Elite Class toys, the Sky Turbine is an almost Voyager-sized swing-wing jet of made-up model, with some design details being reminiscent of the original Jetfire. It features large undercarriage Gatling guns and, satisfyingly, folding nose-cone landing gear. When folded down as armor, the guns unlatch and swing beside its wearer's arms using a spring-loaded mechanism, and wings rotate 180 degrees with the jet exhausts becoming shoulder-mounted cannons. Unlike most Elite-class Spark Armor, there are no larger hands sculpted in.
It was only available packed in with Optimus Prime; the heel supports on Optimus are extra long to support the weight of the armor.

Merchandise

[edit]
  • Optimus Prime (Burger King kids' meal toy, 2019)
  • Accessories: Left & right wings, missile
Part of Burger King's Cyberverse promotion, this take on Optimus Prime is a figure of his Spark-Armored body, including thejet cockpit on his chest and a detachable set of wings on his back. His left arm and hips are articulated, whereas his right arm has a spring-loaded projectile launcher sculpted in.

  • Optimus Prime (McDonald's Happy Meal toy, 2019)
    • Accessories: Jet/armor
Part of the second McDonald's Happy Meal promotion for Cyberverse (released a mere month after the above Burger King promotion), Optimus Prime is a 4-inch-tall figure with articulation at the neck, hips and arms. He includes a small fighter jet reminiscent of the Sky Turbine that can be separated in half and reattached onto various posts around his body as weapons or armor.
