Skyboom shields are a type of energy shields used by Transformers. It is the main defensive tool of Sentinel Prime. Sari also comes to possess a Skyboom shield post-AllSpark Key-upgrade. Both known iterations of this kind of shield possess a light-blue energy field, and are capable of expanding to better protect their wielders.

In the case of Sentinel's shield, it can also produce energy spikes around its rim, and expand into a larger, rectangular shape to defend others around him. It can withstand very heavy attacks, and would allow Sentinel to be an effective warrior if he weren't such an arrogant jerk.

Animated Deluxe Sentinel Prime includes a Skyboom shield which he can hold in either fist. Sentinel's lance can slot into a loop on its underside for storage in vehicle mode.
