Solipsistic Staff

The Solipsistic Staff is the personal badge of office of Lio Convoy, marking his status as the Guardian of Order. The staff generates a field that prevents any who hold it from being seen by any recording device, and can disable any Cybertronian nearby if the owner wishes it. Ownership of the staff grants Lio immunity from Builder-related security checks. Or at least, it's meant to.

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Lio Convoy carried the staff with him during the cycles in which he attended a meeting with Eject, met Blackarachnia, joined the Resistance. During the 1924th Games at Dodecahex Arena, Lio used it to hide his presence until he assassinated Sonar, then used it to freeze everyone around as he instigated the Grand Uprising. During the conflict that followed, the Staff was reforged into the sword, though it still retained its previous abilities. When the Builder Assembly developed the Vehicons, their new forces generated jamming fields, an upgrade of the Solipsistic Staff's ability. Galva Convoy, the progenitor of the Vehicons, was given his own staff.

Lio carried the Solipsistic Sword with him when he confronted the Builder Assembly before Galva Convoy turned them into Copter and Artillery Drones. When heading for the Grand Mal, Eject explained more of the sword's abilities to Lio and how it could shield him from the Vehicons' scanners. Upon infiltrating the warship, Lio found that he could use the sword to shield others but that doing so left him exposed to the Vehicons. Derailment

  • [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Solipsism|{{#if:||Solipsism}}]], from Latin solus, meaning 'alone', and ipse, meaning 'self', is the philosophical idea that only one's mind is sure to exist and that anything outside one's own mind is unsure; the external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist outside one's mind.
