Sonar is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film continuity family.
He's a hundred and fifty feet tall! Who is he HIDING behind?!

Sonar loves being one of a handful of Transformers who can travel across the sea. He loves it so much, in fact, that he takes advantage of being one of the few that can traverse water to taunt those who can't (after leaving them soaking wet), from juuuuuuuuust out of range of their weapons. Wideload has become his favourite target as of late.

Sonar's kind of a tool.

Sonar was among the Transformers captured by the Initiative and brainwashed into fighting on their side. Nefarious #6 Following the defeat the Initiative, he rejoined Starscream's Decepticons and was part of the assault force sent to Philadelphia to retrieve the rogue Decepticon scrap drone Brains. Sonar briefly battled Bumblebee, who was helping to protect the drone, but was suddenly felled by an energy blade from un unseen combatant later revealed to be the Autobot Mirage. Rising Storm #2

Sonar surprisingly survived the encounter, as he was among the Decepticons that were trying to retreat after NEST showed up. Rising Storm #4 However, he was eventually killed by a team led by Lieutenant Witwicky while hiding in the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Long Island Sound|{{#if:||Long Island Sound}}]] at some point after the Philadelphia battle. Revenge of the Fallen

Knight Boat! The Crime Solving Boat!
  • Sonar (Scout Class, 2010)
Part of the fifth wave of Revenge of the Fallen Scout-class figures, Sonar is black and blue redeco of Depthcharge, transforming into a stealth warship that shares a basic shape with the U.S. Lockheed Martin Littoral Combat Ship concept. In a departure from this design, Sonar's rear helipad is replaced with dual missile racks that become shoulder mounted in robot mode. Ironically, the sculpted details on this mold would greatly decrease the stealth characteristics of an actual ship.
His official battle mode, which was based upon a concept image by artist Ben Procter, would apparently allow him to transform into robot mode while still on the water and float on large boat-feet.
This mold would also have been used for the unreleased Transformers (2010) Drydock.
