Isn't it strange? Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror

The Starscream drones, under the leadership of Starscream, are mass-produced clones of the notorious Decepticon. They are the heavy-hitters of Jhiaxus's clone army, able to carry out devastating bombardments from the air.

Wings Universe

[edit]

As the invasion of Cybertron began, Starscream drones were tasked with bombing its major cities. At Uraya, one drone personally destroyed a turret manned by Zoom-Zoom, Grotusque, and Doublecross.

A few days later, a pair of Starscream drones watched as Megaplex talked with Starscream and Skywarp in the captured city of Iacon. Numerous Starscream drones were present when Megaplex subsequently confronted the Autobot/Decepticon resistance outside the city, and they fought in the battle that followed. Termination

I think I'm a clone now...
  • Starscream (Ultra, 1997)
    • Accessories: 10 missiles
Machine Wars Starscream was repurposed as the Wings Universe Starscream drones.
Starscream's Machine Wars incarnation is a redeco of the Predator Skyquake, transforming into a large bomber jet based vaguely upon an SR-71 Blackbird. The main feature of the toy is its "carpet bombing" gimmick; each wing contains a drum that holds up to four missiles, which drop out as the drum is rotated. A further two missiles can also store on each wing, and one on each side of his fuselage, but while Skyquake came with enough missiles to fill all these ports, Starscream only comes with ten. The short length of the missiles necessary for this gimmick to function means that Starscream does not come with Skyquake's firing missile launcher, since the missiles are shorter than US safety standards allow, although it is incorrectly shown on his packaging. Starscream also lacks Skyquake's Megavisor gimmick. The figure also features a barely noticeable yet enormous Decepticon symbol on the top of the plane rendered in black paint on black plastic.
Starscream is known to have come with either pale grey missiles, better fitting his new color scheme, or bright green missiles like Skyquake's.
This mold was later redecoed to make King Atlas.

  • The drones' design (at right) in the Wings Universe comics, based on the original Machine Wars Starscream toy, was previously created by Josh Burcham for a fan project.
