Steve is an inanimate junk statue from One.
One man's junk is another man's friend.

Steve is one of B-127's only friends alongside EP-508 and A-A-Tron, helping make the passing cycles a little less lonely for the unfortunate waste disposal bot. He even tries to talk to his friends every now and then, but it's mostly gibberish to any bots listening. B-127 seems to understand him just fine, though.

In reality, Steve is little more than a junk statue built by B-127 during his long imprisonment in sub-level 50. However, he might hold secrets within him that may change the fate of Cybertron itself...

Oh, and don't let his name throw you off. He's foreign.

When Orion Pax and D-16 were thrown into the disposal area B-127 worked in, B was quick to introduce the newcomers to his "friends," including Steve. Orion's attempts to tell B that Steve and his two buddies were inanimate hunks of metal fell on deaf ears as a nudge from B caused Steve's head to light up and emit a garbled noise. His curiosity piqued, Orion examined Steve in closer detail, but accidentally knocked his head off much to B-127's anguish. However, this accident bore unexpected fruit as the component that caused the lights and sounds became dislodged and rolled out of Steve's disembodied head – a beacon containing a SOS message from Alpha Trion and the location coordinates of the site of the last stand of the Primes. Believing this to be a clue that would lead them to the long-lost Matrix of Leadership, Orion, D-16, and B-127 embarked on a perilous journey to the surface of Cybertron in the hopes of recovering the artifact. Steve, for obvious reasons, did not accompany them.

Steve remained where B-127 left him for the days that followed, unknowing of the tumult raging across Iacon. Much, much later, B-127 returned to his old post to get his friends up to speed on what had happened, including his new transformation cog and awesome "knife hands" as well as the return of energon across the planet. Unfortunately, in his eager zeal to showcase his weapons to his friends, B accidentally impaled Steve and A-A-Tron through their heads and let out a wail of despair. One
