Sunder is a Decepticon from the Animated continuity family.
Wants to take over the Murder so he can rename it "All and Sunder."

Before Soundwave created Laserbeak and Ratbat, he started with prototypes culled from Sumdac Systems technology. Sunder was one of these prototypes. Though he and his fellow prototypes were not a successful attempt at machine life, Soundwave nevertheless released them into Detroit, sowing chaos.

Sunder can shatter enemy sensors by flapping his wings at high speeds. Though Buzzsaw is the chosen leader of the Murder of prototypes, Sunder continues to challenge Buzzsaw for this position.

  • Sunder is based on orange Laserbeak redeco Sundor from Kiss Players. As that character's name was a pun on Laserbeak's Japanese name, Condor, and that wouldn't make any sense in English markets, The AllSpark Almanac II did a one-letter swap to create a name for him that's also a real word.
  • Sunder was originally introduced as part of an April Fools' Day treat by Derrick J. Wyatt, who encouraged users to determine which characters in a picture would be appearing in upcoming episodes of season 3. Sunder ultimately didn't make the cut, but he was made an official part of Animated universe in the The AllSpark Almanac II.
