Takao Ishii

Takao Ishii (石井隆夫, born June 30, 1954 - July 2018) was a Japanese voice actor. Some of his better-known anime roles include Jiroushin in Gensomaden Saiyuki and Saiyuki Gaiden, and Tatsuo Kano in Hit o Nerae!.

In the world of dubbing, he was best known for dubbing Bob Ross on The Joy of Painting. Other notable roles of Ishii's included Oswald Lee Harvey on The Drew Carey Show, Little Bill in Boogie Nights, Murtogg in Pirates of the Caribbean, Kaito Nakamura on Heroes, Uncle on Jackie Chan Adventures, Azmuth on Ben 10, Mr. Hollywood in 2 Stupid Dogs, Phil Weston in Kicking and Screaming, Ozzy Osborune in Little Nicky and Mr. Spell, Chunk and several others in Toy Story franchise.

Ishii passed away sometime in July of 2018 from an undisclosed illness.

Ishii voiced these characters exclusively in the Japanese dub of "The Rebirth" which was released under the American The Transformers branding to distinguish it from the Japanese continuity of Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers.
