Juguetes Abramowicz

[edit]

Contrary to what 70.77.36.81 said, I found something about this toy company in about 0.19 seconds. Here's a youtube link to a commercial of theirs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeu6sT4bQzU --Khajidha 20:36, 30 October 2011 (EDT)

Anybody speak Spanish? I found this site, which has logos for Abramowicz, Estrela, Rubiplas and a few other toy companies but I did not want to just gank them without asking. --Khajidha 10:32, 1 November 2011 (EDT)

Page seems unecessary

[edit]

Considering that Abramowicz doesn't seem to have either produced anything of their own (Googling for a moment also reveals some Abramowicz-branded TF school gear that could have at least merited a merchandise section but, on closer inspection; all of the said merchandise also seems to be just imported) or released anything particularly noteworthy besides just importing regular Transformers toys (in contrast with, say; GiG in Italy, which despite being an importer was also involved with pre-Transformers, had their own unique giftsets, did some odd one-offs like Galaxy Shuttle, featured unique translated packaging with the Trasformer logo, even added altered projectiles to the toys theselves, etc.), I don't think that there's much value in keeping either this page or, for the matter; Peru's HUDE and BASA (which apparently are just the same company arbitrarily split across two pages): there are way too many companies which were only involved with the Transformers brand on a distribution capacity, and unless they have at least some unique unusual releases like GiG did, it doesn't seem like they all merit a page of their own. Thus, I believe it's fair to nominate all three of these pages for speedy deletion. (FortressMaxxing (talk) 08:08, 3 May 2025 (EDT))

Pretty sure this is an incorrect use of speedy delete? If there's room for debate then I think {{tobedeleted}} is the proper one to use. As for the pages themselves, they are pretty bare bones but we have other small pages for characters/concepts that are briefly mentioned so I don't see a particular need to delete these. But considering most of that info is condensed on Generation 1 toylines in Latin America#Peru and Chile, perhaps we could change the pages to redirect there? On the off chance someone recalls those companies or they get mentioned elsewhere in the wiki. The individual companies are currently still linked on Transformers timeline and Multilingual packaging. -BluJayWarrior (talk) 10:28, 3 May 2025 (EDT)
My apologies, I did not know that {{tobedeleted}} was a more adequate tag - nonetheless; I stand by my previous argument: These three pages have been one-line stubs for almost two decades now and it's pretty difficult to un-stub them because there's basically nothing especially noteworthy about these companies that there wouldn't be about the hundreds or maybe even thousands of other companies worldwide that just distributed Transformers toys at some point in time. The only thing that *could* make them remarkable would be if maybe these toys had unique reprinted regionalized packaging (and if this were our minimum standard for when a distributor is noteworthy enough to be included in the wiki then I guess we would also have to add whatever other companies produced regional packaging around the world, e.g.; I know Spain received them at some point in late G1?), however; I can't even find any pictures of MISB / MOSC Abramowicz toys to determine if their boxes are any different and it is known that all HUDE / BASA did was to add stickers to the packaging of imported toys, thus; there really doesn't seem to be anything notable justifying the inclusion of these companies as full wiki articles. (FortressMaxxing (talk) 10:55, 3 May 2025 (EDT))
I also disagree with the idea of adding redirects (or, really, any wikilinks to anywhere else whenever these companies are mentioned) because literally everything that's relevant about them to the franchise can be said in a single sentence: "they distributed Transformers toys in [country]". There's no need to link a separate page when you can add this short sentence to whatever article brings them up and, in fact; just about every mention of these companies on the wiki already mentions that they were the Transformers distributors for their specific countries in the same paragraph: these pages are, thus, completely redundant, as they provide virtually no other information besides what is already known when someone sees a wikilink for it.
