Talk:Airachnid (Prime)
It is written that "Unlike real spiders, Airachnid has compound eyes."
Perhaps another feature that may distinguish her from spiders is that she walks on six legs, instead of eight (unless one counted her robotic legs as her 7th and 8th). Sharky857 12:15, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
- I figured that since she keeps her arms in...alternate mode (can't really call it a beast mode) she has the necessary eight limbs. -- SFH 12:24, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
- Great minds think alike SFH, I was also about to post that Airachnid's arms are the last set in her eight limbs. Alientraveller 12:27, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
- Hmm, you're right. I never counted her arms as 7th and 8th leg, because... Well, they are arms and not legs. Anyway, I see your point. Sharky857 14:50, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
She turned into a drill at the end.--Primo 15:57, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
- She used her legs to drill, she didn't transform into one. Alientraveller 16:10, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
- Correct, she was still in her robot mode when she drilled. --ItsWalky 16:14, 17 April 2011 (EDT)
Can we put this somewhere in the article?: "Airachnid transforms from a spider-like robot to a robot-like spider."

Possible jet mode?
[edit]I saw what looked like two halves of a jet's cockpit on the backs of Airachnid's shoulders. Is that worth noting, or should it wait until we see that she actually has some sort of jet mode?

G1 Insecticon colors?
[edit]Can someone explain to me why this info should be on this page when it can't be proven this was an intentional homage?--Roni134730 23:56, 18 April 2011 (EDT)
- I kind of think the burden of proof is on you to prove that a Bug Decepticon in predominantly black with gold and purple is entirely by accident. --ItsWalky 00:03, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- A spider-like female decepticon with a color scheme which is specifically attempting to homage the 3 original male Decepticon insects? If she shared any design or character attributes with the Insecticons I'd find it more likely, but as is... I note it as a possibility. But I suppose mabye I'm just getting a little too concerned about getting an official source for the info. Actually, I'm surprised no one is arguing that they are Blackarachnia's colors.--Roni134730 00:53, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- Blackarachnia is more purple and less black. I'd sooner believe Arachnid's colours to be a homage to the Insecticons... Even if I feel like raging that spiders aren't insects. Geewunling 01:48, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- Airachnid has compound eyes like an insect's, though. --Detour 02:36, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- Also there's the episode's pun about Jack and the "large insects" he has to swat at the beginning and end. --ItsWalky 08:48, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- Actually, purple was only introduced on Blackarachnia (character model-wise) with her Transmetal 2 form, and even then wasn't really a staple 'color' for her character until Animated. (Her Beast Machines form was magenta. Yeah, I said it.) Boy Blunderous 23:28, 14 May 2011

Three Modes
[edit]Now that Airachnid's officially confirmed to have a helicopter mode, I believe it is ok to label her a 'Transformer with three modes'. Unless Hasbro officially labels her a Triple Changer.--Cydra 02:47, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
- We still don't know if she abandoned the...spider alternate mode (can't really call it a beast mode) so I'd say we wait until we know for sure. -- SFH 12:17, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
Image
[edit]Instead of concrete Airachnid, shouldn't it be an image of her helicopter mode? User:Eire Jun 26 2011 14:40
- Yes, it definitely should. --ItsWalky 12:34, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
- Is there a reason we couldn't have both? This image is kinda funny, and I figure there will be many (better) opportunities to get a good shot of her altmode. Concrete-covered Airachnid, not so much. Geewunling 12:59, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
- As a guy who's been trying to get altmode pics of people from Prime, I can tell you that no, altmode images are not really all that easy to get. Especially airborne ones. And, frankly, her acquiring her altmode is way more important to her appearance in this episode than a sight gag. --ItsWalky 13:16, 26 June 2011 (EDT)

Alt Mode
[edit]Anyone get what kind of attack heilo her alt mode is based on? Kinda reminded me of the cancelled RAH-66 Comanche http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAH-66_Comanche but it could be an attack helicopter currently in service. Possibly a European design as it certainly doesn't resemble the Apache or any of the Cobra variants. -annonimous 6/27/11 12:38 AM EST
- I'm guessing entirely made up, considering it has spider-web-shaped cockpit lines. --ItsWalky 00:52, 27 June 2011 (EDT)
- I don't know. Immediately after I posted I went to the Crisscross page and it already said the same thing, that her alt mode appears to be based on a Comanche. The spiderweb pattern could be more of a decroative element to point to Airachnid's nature, which you clearly don't see when she's in her alt mode. My orignal thought when I first saw the episode was to try and find if there was a heilo named black widow, but I don't think there are any named after insects or arachnids. But the lines on the Comanche give it a deadly look, which would suit the character. - annonymous 6/27/11 2:35 AM EST
- I agree that the resemblance is strong enough that it should be mentioned on her page; at the very least it will give interested persons a place to start when looking for reference

Maleficent
[edit]I've removed the anon's claims that the ressemblance was fully intentional, but should that note be kept nonetheless? Seems like a bit of a stretch and it's normally more the rule to keep these kinds of notes to only what's intentional. --Detour 11:38, 27 June 2011 (EDT)
- I think it should be removed. —Interrobang 12:41, 27 June 2011 (EDT)
Thumbnail of Airachnid's Vehicle Mode
[edit]You know, I've just recently saw Airachnid's Stealth Helicopter Mode on this site and it looked awesome. However, should anyone of you wish to make this image a thumbnail on the Airachnid's bio section of this site, could you possibly make one, so that we Transformers fan will get a chance to enlarge it in full resolution in order for us to give a very clear glimpse of what Airachnid's True Altmode will be like?
The toy that the anons claime she'll have
[edit]Why do they think she'll have one? Was it rumoured somewhere I don't frequent? Is it out-of-context bollocks? Should this article be semi-protected (assuming that's the one that means "anon no-touchy")? Am I abusing the questions here? Bobpiecheese 07:28, 10 July 2011 (EDT)?
- Seeing as Hasbro applied for an Airachnid trademark.... Antimatter 09:43, 10 July 2011 (EDT)
- I don't think it's been rumoured anywhere beyond Hasbro's trademark app (which ISTR was a while ago now?) but even if it has, obviously a rumour isn't good enough for a toy to be listed here. --abates 16:38, 10 July 2011 (EDT)
Removal of Note section comment. "Compound Eyes"
[edit]Can I ask for the removal of the particular note on the section that says she has compound eyes? I removed it but someone placed it back
It is not accurate and I think it should be removed. Of course you can decide to leave it but it really is inaccurate.
1) Just because she has webbing in the eyes to show that effect does not mean they are true compound eyes.
2) To call them that.. well implies compound eyes. If you look up what compound eyes are you would understand this is indeed incorrect. Compound eyes implies just that. Her eyes are not segmented they are not on the sides of her head or extended outward. It is just an assumption and a poor one at that to include such a statement just because of a webbing design.
3) We have seen from her viewpoint and again this supports the facts they are not compound.
At the very least could it be changed up to say it resembles compound eyes?
I doubt anyone will change this up but thanks for at least reading this anyways.

Insecticon?
[edit]okay so with the last episode and her control of the insecticon what kind of con is she decept or insect? 108.38.164.252 23:46, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
- She's both. The original insecticons were a sub group of decepticons —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.43.213.155 (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
- I don't think we can say she's an Insecticon unless she's named as such onscreen or on packaging or somewhere. --abates 02:58, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
- My theory is that she was an experiment by Shockwave on combining Insecticon and Decepticon body-types to enhance strength. I guess the process subsequently gave her hypnotic powers over the insecticon horde. For her small size, she is quite strong, being able to take out heavyweights like Breakdown and webbing up Dreadwing. Since she is somewhat of an insect herself (spider, which is not scientifically an insect, but is close enough), it would make sense that she'd have hypnotism over the Insecticons because like Megatron's total control over terrorcons is due to his fusion of dark energon, Arachnid should have total control over Insecticons due to her Insecticon spark fusion. How old this "Queen of the Horde" thing lasted is not known, so it is still a theory until someone finally gives a back story. Maybe it's in that "Book of Revelations" everyone including me is dying to get. --Tevatron044 (talk) 02:03, 30 April 2014 (EDT)

Toy?
[edit]Does Airachnid's toy have the half-spider mode like she does in the show, or she only has a helicopter mode?71.255.168.14 11:56, 5 August 2012 (EDT) Helicopter only.--76.28.76.206 12:42, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
Rare Toy
[edit]Is Airachnid's toy rare? Every single store in my area does not have one.
4 months after this website said it was released, by that time I had completely given up on searching for the toy, and in a Walgreen's I found the only Airachnid I ever seen.
2 months later, I found another one at a Barne's and Noble's.
That's sad. Went to every Toy R Us, Target, Walmart, Kmart, and dollar store within a 100 miles of my house, none had Airachnid. Yet Walgreen's, a pharmacy, and Barne's and Noble's, a book store with a very smal toy section, had one.

Model Reused for RiD15
[edit]Why was her model reused and recoloured in RiD2015 as a generic, and who even is this character anyway?? (Also the Japanese dub of Airachnid kinda scares me) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DrXshock (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
