Red cross

[Ratchet] has Animated Ratchet's rescue logos on his shoulders to boot. The real-life explanation for this is most likely due to the Red Cross's holding of the copyright for the standard medical symbol.

This makes no friggin' sense. First of all, a symbol as simple as the red cross can't be copyrighted. It can only be trademarked. Second, this wouldn't exactly apply in this case as it's not used in advertising, and not by a direct competitor either. The Red Cross might be a reason for the use of a different logo, but not for the reasons stated in the article.--Nevermore 07:16, 21 November 2009 (EST)

In a Moonbase2 interview, Matt Moylan confirmed that during the DW era they had to stop using the red cross symbol because the Red Cross threatened to sue User:Eire 14.10 21 Nov 09 (UTC)

Article with information about usage of the Red Cross emblem in general. In short, it does in fact apply to pretty much all usages that aren't official Red Cross stuff. --Jeysie 09:30, 21 November 2009 (EST)

It's still not "copyright", though. It appears to be trademark-related, and on the other hand it could also be argued that the red cross symbol's use on Ratchet was incorrect in the first place, similar to a Chevrolet logo on a Porsche.--Nevermore 09:36, 21 November 2009 (EST)
