Talk:Antex
Okay I just want to throw this out publicly, I have no real proof so I don't want to put it on the page, but as these toys are very on my mind (I have a red/yellow Robot-Man Z on-card on the way) and I've been trying to track down more accurate info...
I'm not unconvinced that the Robot-Men are not a new run of figures, but repackaged 1985-run toys. The unchromed guns are part of it, what with late-run Salt-Men having those too, but more importantly, as I've been picture-digging, I've noticed kind of an inverse-polarity of which decos are more common between the two releases. There's more green/white Salt-Mans X than red/yellow, but I'm seeing far more red/yellow Robot-Mans X than green/white. I'm seeing a metric buttload of blue/yellow Salt-Mans Z, and barely any black/white (like, one boxed pic at most?), meanwhile, so far there seems to be only black/white Robot-Mans Z, no blue/yellow at all. This, plus the Antex warehouse find in... early 2010s?... that saw carded Minibots for sale at BotCon super-cheap for a year or two, indicating a lot of unsold product... and we KNOW there was repackaging going on in Argentina, what with the "Invasion Galactica" deal.
Like I said, not something I'm willing to declare, and it's not quite solid enough to go on the page proper thanks to generally limited research/pictures available, but still. Might be something to this. --M Sipher (talk) 02:02, 21 December 2023 (EST)
