Is it worth noting that the cinema in Springfield (as in The Simpsons) is also called the Aztec? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.168.96.216 (talkcontribs).

No. —Interrobang 10:38, 16 October 2011 (EDT)
Well, as long as there's an open dialogue on the matter, that's the important thing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 79.74.88.218 (talkcontribs).
Don't let Interrobang put you off! If the building in the comic was drawn to look like the cinema in the Simpsons, I think we'd be justified in calling it a reference, but they look completely different. --abates 17:40, 22 October 2011 (EDT)
Thanks abates, I just thought it was a curious coincidence considering of all the things the cinema could have been called, it happens to be the same name as the one in a very popular TV show. I understand what you're saying, though - many thanks for the response; I was somewhat non-plussed at Interrobang's rudeness... A lot of people have told me that this place tends to be cliquey with new contributors often shouted down and/or brushed off by senior members (hence why I haven't yet registered). It's good to know that's not universal.
There exist real Aztec Theaters, so that adds another layer of doubt to any possible homages. --Detour 01:47, 23 October 2011 (EDT)
Yeh, that was my other thought - whether it's as generic as the name Springfield and purposefully chosen; being British I wouldn't know. Thought it was worth asking at least :)
