IDW section

So the Sourcebook stuff really doesn't fit with the Predacus stuff. In particular, Magmatron is created after the Pax Cybertronia according to Predacus, but was supposedly defeated by Big Convoy prior to it according to the Sourcebook. Where, exactly, does Big Convoy say "I never trust anyone—except for my Big Cannon", and how does he actually say it?

Both this page and Big Cannon have the same quote listed, but source two different issues of the BWN manga, this page saying it came from "A Battle Fought Alone", and Big Cannon saying "Mortal Combat! Twenty Thousand Meters in the Sky". And both of those issues have quotes that have similar wording/intent, but do not 100% match what this page and Big Cannon are quoting (and both are part of longer sentences anyway). Considering the discrepancies that have been discovered in the BWII/BWN writeups in the last few years, this feels like one or more of these quotes have been either roughly translated, or someone has paraphrased and/or misidentified the sources, and mmmmight border on circular reporting?

I can only read Japanese very slowly, so I skimmed through the images that seemed like they could contain the quote and found these that might be what's being talked about:

This line is quoted on the manga page as "I never trust anyone except for my Big Cannon, who had accompanied for my whole life."

MCTTMITS: 貴様がいうようにオレは天涯孤独だからオレが信じるのは...我がキャノンのみ!!! / [Kisama ga iu you ni]¹ [ore wa tengai kodoku]² [dakara]³ [ore ga shinjiru no wa...]⁴ [waga cannon nomi!!!]⁵ / [It's as (a piece of shit like) you said]¹ [I (am) alone in the world]² [(and) therefore]³ [I have faith in...]⁴ [my cannon alone!!!]⁵

This line is quoted on the manga page as "Like you said, I am always alone, so I never trust anyone—except for my cannon."

Alright, so now that I know for sure these are the correct lines, I propose to update the quote on both Big Cannon and MCTTMITS to "It's as you said, scumbag, I stand in the world alone, and therefore I have faith... IN MY CANNON ALONE!!!" I'm little good for detecting tone in Japanese, but I think this wording and construction reflects the scene as well as the loft of tengai kodoku and waga.

As for Big Convoy's quote, I would prefer something different just to not use the same quote on two pages, but I haven't paid the kind of attention (yet?) to BWN to suggest another pick. I personally would be fine with no quote on this page for the time being. Having recently re-watched BWN, there's definitely some material to work with, but since we still only have the fan-translated(?) subtitles, I'd be leery about using any of them as main quotes. (Of course, I can't read/understand Japanese, so maybe they're more accurate than I give them credit for?) Crossfire 13:54, 13 May 2026 (EDT)

I've updated the MCTTMITS quote. For the ABFA quote, I want to go with "I have lived by just myself and relied only on my Big Cannon." Letting this sit here for a few days to see if there are objections.

If you can narrow down your preferred quotes based on the subs, I can attempt to hear and "judge" the sub. Absolutely no guarantee I'll succeed, but I can make an attempt. What little I have looked at of the fan subs myself, they're accurate but as is the case with subbing in general, sacrifices sometimes need to be made to keep the flow going.
