"Australian exclusives"

I think I read somewhere that they came from the same production run as the Chinese G1 toys, just without the Chinese sticker.--Nevermore 12:35, 8 January 2011 (EST)

If we include these australian releases should we not include the european releases not in gold packaging in these years as well? Stuff like the greener Gig Devastator giftset with chinese copyrights and many other such as the dinobots come to mind? Argus (talk) 06:14, 4 May 2015 (EDT)

As an Australian who bought many of these releases, I can tell you that your information is a mix of incomplete and inaccurate. Firstly, you're absolutely correct that Soundwave & Buzz-saw, Starscream (fun story - mine came with 2 left fists as a QC error), Cyclonus & Ramjet were released in G1 style original packaging. However you've omitted that Bumblebee, Beachcomber, Seaspray and Hubcap were also given this treatment.

You're also dead wrong about Blaster's packaging. I can tell you firsthand that Blaster absolutely was released in the "Classic" style gold packaging. He showed up in what had then become my local Toyworld (Toyworld Hornsby), located in the former Westfield Hornsby (not to be confused with the rebuilt Westfield Hornsby, which merged with adjacent shopping centre, Northgate at the turn of the millenia) at the same time as the Triple Changers hit the shelves there.

This wasn't simply a single sighting either, it was multiple sightings over multiple weeks, while the one Blaster they had in store shelf-warmed and I would repeatedly eye it off, only to choose to pass on it.

I'll add that while I never saw the Chinese Style G1 packaging reissues in Toyworld Hornsby at the time, I did see them in Playscene, which was my other local toy store, which at the time was located in Northgate. While I saw and wound up buying all the Chinese-style G1 reissues stocked in Playscene (Soundwave & Buzz-saw, the aforementioned 3 jets and aforementioned 4 minicars), at no point did I ever spot Blaster in there in Chinese style G1 packaging. I'll add that stock levels of the Chinese Style G1 reissues were plentiful enough at the time, that they had stock of all of them for weeks on end.

I'm making the changes, because the information here should be accurate. I've listed Blaster as simply being "Classic Blaster", because I don't remember what the function they listed him on the box was, simply that he was in gold packaging, sitting on the same shelf as the the Triple Changers and Dinobots at Toyworld Hornsby. However because of this, I've also been able to accurately place the date for Blaster at 1991, rather than 1990 which it had been previously listed as. I'll be editing Blaster's Toy page entry as well to reflect this, as well as editing the toy pages of Bumblebee, Hubcap, Seaspray and Beachcomber accordingly as well.
