Animated's Japanese web previews

Sorry to bother you, Tiger, but I'm having trouble trying to save the NicoNico links onto my PC. None of the sites that I use seem to work, and I was wondering if you're having better luck. --Lonegamer78 18:17, 14 November 2010 (EST)

No bother at all, Lonegamer. I haven't actually tried to download anything since "Shadow of the Spider Woman" (behind due to classes) but I was having trouble around that time because Nico changed the code for their flash player so that the (I think XML) file I was getting the video file URLs from wasn't being used anymore. I did eventually find another way to do it, but I don't remember what exactly that was. I'll look into it this evening and let you know what I find out. --Tigerpaw28 19:53, 14 November 2010 (EST)

Ok, I have no clue how I was managing to download things after they changed their code, if I did at all. However, a Google search provided some answers. There's several different solutions mentioned here. I haven't checked out everything mentioned in that thread, but I can confirm that vid-dl.net and the Firefox plug-in that's referenced will both work. Getting the file from Firefox's cache would have to work too since it has to download the video there.--Tigerpaw28 21:38, 14 November 2010 (EST)
