Talk:Counterpoint
Uh why are Demon, Unicron and Primus listed as Nebulans?
LIST OF CHARACTERS:
P1: (Clockwise, from top) 1) Jhiaxus*, 2) Galvatron*, 3) Grimlock*, 4) Optimus Prime, 5) Ratchet*, 6) Megatron*, 7) Ratbat*, 11) Skydive* & 12) Slingshot*. I believe this is Slingshot and NOT Broadside as this article states, because the panel is a flashback to the old G1 comic 'Aerialbots Over America' (you can see the space bridge and drill in the background). There is also 9) one of the 'City of Fear' demons*, 8)Buster Witwicky*, and 10) some other human dude (looks a bit like He-Man) that I don't recognise*.
P2: 13) Primus*, 14) Unicron*
P3: 15) Hound*, 16) Megatron*, 17) Soundwave. There's a blue Autobot in the foreground who's only seen from behind, but I'm buggered If I know who it is.
P4: 18) The Last Autobot
P5: Top panel, front row, L-R: 19) Ruckus, 20) Sparkstalker, 21) Wingspan (or possibly Pounce). Back row, L-R 22) Battletrap, 23) Fangry, 24) Spinister, 25) Needlenose, 26) Horri-bull.
Middle panel: no idea. Generics?
P6/7 double spread: 27) Rumble*, 28) Starscream*, 29) Skywarp*, 30) Buzzsaw*
P8: 31) Ultra Magnus, 32) Kup, 33) Hot Rod
P10: 34) Shockwave*, 35) Prowl*, 36) Bumblebee*, 37) Huffer*, 38) Slag*, 39) Swoop*
P11: 40) Defensor*, 41) Bruticus* (NB: both these combiners are shown in gestalt mode only, so I don't know if this counts as just two robots appearing, or if we count the individual limb-bots as seperate listings also. Up to you, I guess.) 42) Fort Max*, 43) Scorponok* Starscream is also shown blasting the hell out of four more robots, but again I can't identify.
P14: 44) Thunderwing*, 45) Wheeljack*
P15: 46) Bludgeon*
Characters marked with an asterisk* appear in flasback only. On that point, maybe listings for other issues should be amended so we're clear who actually appears and who's only a flashback (e.g. Cliffjumper's apprearance in Transformers US Issue 2 is flashback only, but he's listed on this wiki as having a full-on appearance.
Hope that helps! Ryan Frost 19:36, 1 May 2012 (EDT)
Micromaster IDing
[edit]Walky, by your list, you're IDing the teal-and-grey and dark green bots behind Cindersaur and Pounce as Power Punch and Vanquish. I don't see how that can be them, the colours and looks don't match at all. Your list also has the Micromasters in the next panel as Meltdown, Half-Track, Direct-Hit and unknown. I'm seeing them as Vanquish (teal body, magenta arms, black triangle rising behind head with lined faceplate), Half-Track (we agree on this one), Power Punch (black body, teal arms, magenta upper legs, yellow visor, wheels set high and parallel with head) and Meltdown (teal body, purple thing rising over his head, shoulder wheels, matching chest complete with screw-hole). - Chris McFeely 12:19, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- Vanquish is definitely Vanquish, judging by the kibble on his back. I guess I agree with you about Meltdown, because of the two little nobs under his ribcage. Before I'd chosen him for the other guy because they generally matched up and their mouthplates had the same greebles. The rest I AM CONTENTIOUS ABOUT. --ItsWalky 12:36, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- Issues, they must be taken! On Vanquish, I can see what you're talking about with the backpack kibble, but where you're seeing one of Vanquish's engines, I'm not. Can you really look at these side and by side and say that the dark green guy is Vanquish? See the matching chest details, including the pectoral vents and the little notches at the top-centre, and the black triangle of backpack kibble coming up behind his head, as well as the triangular slats in his mouthplate?

- My problem is that he doesn't look green on the page in front of me, but then my room is lit really dumbly and the lighting in that scene is annoying. But I concede. --ItsWalky 13:18, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- I really pissin' hate Micromasters, y'know. On Power Punch, here's another comparison - I'll totally admit this one isn't nearly as definite, but besides the colours, my pick has has a head with the two-pronged crest/mohawk dealie and sticky-outty cheekguards, that little square on his pelvis, and the general look of "having a block of stuff surrounding his head" with those lined, black... things that could be his wheels or the toy's vent-things, frankly. Blargh. Oh, and if we were to assume Wildman has pulled a Don Fig and squashed the character's stomach into their crotch (as the lower placement of his pelvis-square suggests), those two circles visible would fit, too.

Flashback Misidentification?
[edit]Those jets on page 1 appear to be Dreadwind and Darkwing flying on Nebulos, albeit miscolored as Aerialbots. --Thylacine 2000
- Huh. You're right. I thought that was the drill thing coming out of the Space Bridge from "Aerialbots over America!," but the composition is sideways. Turn it 90 degrees counterclockwise and you've got Nebulos, particularly the Gardens of Eternal Peace and Harmony Macrobiotic Restaurant. You can see the tiny little people sketched inside and everything. Which is weird, because that's not what Dreadwing and Darkwing's models look like at all. No wonder the colorist was confused. --ItsWalky 13:17, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
Circuit Smasher?
[edit]Who's Circuit Smasher? Excise 13:35, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
- Other than it being that half-naked pouched dude from the first page, we don't know yet. --ItsWalky 13:39, 12 May 2012 (EDT)
