Talk:Cyber Key/gallery
From MediaWiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchSurely shots of the keys unobscured would be more useful than shots of them "exploding" like this? --Riptide (talk) 14:02, 26 June 2019 (EDT)
- Agreed. Looking at the episodes now, there's a few frames at the end of every key activation sequence where little to no "explosion" effect remains, which would be more ideal. (Not to mention none of the images are tagged and just aren't that great in terms of quality; a DVD rip would be better if possible.) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 14:40, 26 June 2019 (EDT)
What to do with this page?
[edit]So this page was largely built by a user who has since been banned for block evasion, and to be honest, I'm not sure whether this page should be left as is, partially merged into the main Cyber Key article, or scrapped entirely. PZAD457 uploaded a lot of images to the page (largely untagged), with even more just sitting in the Unused Files page, and I'm seriously not convinced we need all of them. I'd appreciate some input to help figure out how to proceed. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:19, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- Burn it to the ground and salt the earth it stood on. --Khajidha (talk) 15:22, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- Honestly, the main article really COULD do with actual images of all the various full keys, not JUST the symbols. Shoddy cartoon screen shots are not the way, though. I might could put together some toy shots, I think I have one of each type... probably.... --M Sipher (talk) 18:45, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- Yeah, unfortunately, there's no way to get better TV shots of the keys; believe me, I've tried. Every time one is used, by the time the activation pulse obscuring it fully fades, the key itself has started to as well, so it makes for a poor illustration either way. We should probably limit the toy photos to one per mold too, lest the gallery get too bloated. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:53, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- Yeah, that's what I was thinking. One per planet, note variants in the text. --M Sipher (talk) 20:28, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- I dunno, guys - shoddy as they are, these images were a useful resource for me recently. There are subtle but significant differences between the designs and proportions of the toy and show keys. I feel like keeping at least some of them would be valuable. --Riptide (talk) 20:43, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- I don't see the harm; the fact that a banned user built this page shouldn't be relevant in whether this page is useful or not. Snip the redundant unpainted keys, I guess. Saix (talk) 21:05, 20 August 2019 (EDT)
- I have no problem with the page originally being made by a banned user. The issue is the fact that this page needs to be cleaned up or merged, and the person who originally built most of it isn't here anymore, hence the question of what to do with it. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 10:24, 21 August 2019 (EDT)
