Difference from Knights of Cybertron

[edit]

Other than the fact that the Knights of Cybertron are Ancient in origins, what makes the Cybertronian Knights different than KoC? Also, did I see where Alpha Trizer basically said they were the new Knights of Cybertron? Amalgamous Prime (talk) 01:01, 8 July 2014 (EDT)

Look, I'm just going off how they were named on the danged filecards. --ItsWalky (talk) 01:35, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
Well perhaps the fact that the Knights of Cybertron being ancient is their entire defining deal, that they're the first generation of Cybertronians after the Guiding Hand who have vanished into the realm of myth, whereas the Knights in the BotCon story are literally just some dudes who call themselves knights. - Chris McFeely (talk) 11:00, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
Devcon's bio card refers to the group that Trizer convinced Devcon to join as the "Knights of Cybertron". As do the log entries written by Apelinq on Tornado's Facebook. --Sabrblade (talk) 13:09, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
Perhaps we should pay closer attention to punctuation. From Knight Ginrai's filecard: "This is why he has taken leadership of KNIGHT ALPHA TRIZER's new team of CYBERTRONIAN KNIGHTS, a tribute to the original KNIGHTS of CYBERTRON." Does the lower case "of" in the middle make "KNIGHTS of CYBERTRON" two proper nouns connected by a preposition rather than a full three-word name? Is he asking him to join the knights of Cybertron rather than the KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON? --ItsWalky (talk) 13:21, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
What of Apelinq's log entries that have no ALL CAPS format for any names? This entry makes it sound like Alpha Trizer is reforming the old group with new members, rather than creating an all new group merely inspired by the original. And it was first released online before the toy bios were released at the con. --Sabrblade (talk) 15:58, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
This is what happens when take a thing that's specific to one continuity and shove it sideways into another one with a completely different history. Who the heck even are the "original Knights of Cybertron" in the cartoon-based Wingsverse? --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 16:16, 8 July 2014 (EDT)

well someone just ask nightviper --ItsWalky (talk) 16:29, 8 July 2014 (EDT)

Naming them the Cybertronian Knights rather than them taking the name of their predecessors was intentional. Yet at the same time they are meant as a revival of the Knights of Cybertron, fulfilling the same duties and tasks of protecting the planet and keeping the peace. They're just...still rookies and not quite up to that full title and respect just yet.{{#if:|{{{quote2}}}}}{{#if:|{{{2}}}{{#if:|, {{{3}}}|}}|}}
