Talk:Cybertronian civil wars
Something that always bugged me with the cybertronian civil wars is the personal back stories of some of the transformers. For example, Ironhide and Kup seem to have been fighters in the war since a long time ago while Mirage, who is younger, had the time to become rich in the peace times. If it could sort of work in the animated continuity (Kup and Ironhide could have been fighter in the war previous to golden age cybertron), it's absolutely impossible in the marvel comic continuity, as there seem to have never been any window of peace since the first conflict began for Mirage to build a fortune. Unless Mirage is actually as old as Ironhide (which seems unlikely).
The same problem arise for Sentinel Prime, who has been suggested to be a leader of peacetime, which is again very difficult to place in the Marvel Comics. Or is it me who is missing something?
- Mirage was asleep for four million years. Kup may be practically a newborn compared to him, but he's probably been active for a lot longer. Granted, that doesn't answer the Ironhide question, but it's something.
- In broader strokes, though, my "a wizard did it" equivalent is to chalk historical oddities up to the fact that nine million years is an inconceivably long time. Surely there had to have been victories and truces and stalemates and all manner of pauses in the war. Look at how quickly tides turned from 1984 to 2006 (and whenever the Pax Cybertronia occurred). - Jackpot 19:37, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'd assume the war(s) didn't just start all at once on Cybertron, so chances are the guys on one side of the planet didn't get involved at the same time as guys on the other. Like, say it took an extra couple hundred years for the battle that started in the blue collar Ironhide section of Cybertron to hit the affluent Mirage section of Cybertron. Of course, the Cybertronian society at large doesn't seem to be solely militaristic, and there are plenty of mentions of currency here and there, so there's the chance that Mirage was running a business before being pulled into actual fighting. I mean, when either World War happened in reality, it's not like BAM! WAR EVERYWHERE with every single person on the planet involved.--MCRG 20:52, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- All I want to say is that someone's going to get some major spankings for "beginned." --ItsWalky 19:55, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Point of this article
[edit]Am I the only one who thinks this seems... aimless? It's pretty much a hodgepodge of a bunch of stuff under a vague banner of "those times Transformers fought each other". We've already got articles for the named conflicts, so what's the point of having redundant information here? Saix (talk) 10:36, 11 April 2016 (EDT)
