Talk:Deus ex Machina
"Ex" may be a preposition, but the Hub website capitalizes it in the title. How much do we care? - Starfield 21:42, 11 March 2011 (EST)
- I've always preferred to capitalize all words in a title, but that's just me. --Khajidha 23:17, 11 March 2011 (EST)
- We should default to how the title is spelled "canonically," but the general rule is that some words are not capitalized when in titles, such as most prepositions. --ItsWalky 00:04, 12 March 2011 (EST)
- The problem with Prime is that it doesn't show episode titles inside the episodes themselves. I guess we could default to the next most official rendition of the title, but I've never liked using websites as the end-to-be-all for anything. —Interrobang 01:26, 12 March 2011 (EST)
- Of course, they'd probably be in all caps. --Khajidha 08:34, 12 March 2011 (EST)
- What about the info box on the on-screen menu for Comcast? There they spell it with the preposition capitalized. TheMZone 00:41, 13 March 2011 (EST)
- Also, the Verizon FiOS DVR system stores by episode titles and also list the episode as "Deus Ex Machina" with the capitalized "Ex" --G1MarvelBlaster 13:29, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
- I know this is old, but in fact, in Latin (the source language of the phrase, even though the idea is Greek) it would be capitalized as Deus ex machina with only the first word capitalized anyway, so I don't know that we need to care too much. Waverod ✈️ (talk) 13:58, 23 September 2018 (EDT)

Is it an error that the kids didn't think to wear gloves or masks when they broke into the museum? --Fortress Minimus 19:34, 12 March 2011 (EST)
"It's harvest time."
[edit]In the "Trivia", it's said that: "In the previous episode's promotion for this episode, Starscream utters the line "It's harvest time." while pointing the harvester at something. However that scene is not present in the finished episode."
After watching the episode, I thought back at that promo; in my opinion, the line "It's harvest time" (said by Starscream during the episode, when he is still on board the "Nemesis") has been added into the promo in the scene where Starscream points the Energon Harvester towards the Vehicon and activates it.
So, it looks like the scene is not actually missing from the episode. Only that line is missing, for it has been said earlier. --Sharky7 07:54, 12 March 2011 (EST)
- Correct. I don't really think this is worth a "Note" line, as it is a longstanding TV and film trailer tradition and has certainly happened in Transformers before. "Depth Charge. Depth Charge. Depth Charge? IIIIIIIIIII LIKE THAT! It's not revenge I'm looking for. Ignore the pain!" --Thylacine 2000 09:19, 12 March 2011 (EST)
- That's what I've been thinking, too. I guess that that note in "Trivia" may be removed then, since no error occured actually. --Sharky7 10:11, 12 March 2011 (EST)
Battle Damage = Animation Error?
[edit]When Bulkhead grabs the harvester from Starscream, he yanks it out of 'Scream's hand and then punches him into a wall. Otherwise, Starscream seems undamaged. Just before Starscream retreats, however, his arm appears to be covered in glowing red wounds of some kind—well, I think that's what they are. Hard for me to tell on my recording. At any rate, the arm doesn't look the same as it did when the harvester was taken from him. Error, or am I overlooking something obvious?--Apcog 00:10, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
- That's his arm cannon that also appeared in "Darkness Rising, Part 4". Yes, his face didn't have any chips or cracks at all when he retreated, which was an odd oversight. Alientraveller 05:36, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
- In my opinion, it looks like in this series plenty of robots can recover pretty quickly from their damages. In the last part of "Darkness Rising", Arcee is carried back through the GroundBridge by Bumblebee barely alive (as Ratchet looks at the Autobot's energy signatures, reading one of those as "very faint"). A few seconds later not only she regains consciousness, but she is also able to stand on her feet.
- In other episodes (i.e. Con Job), some robots are shown with a trail of coughed up energon close to their mouths (namely: Starscream and Makeshift -disguised as Wheeljack-), but it takes only a change of scene to get rid of said trail and be fine again. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see also Starscream recovering that fast from Bulkhead's punch. --Sharky7 08:37, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
Miko's phone
[edit]In the section "Trivia" it is written that: "When Miko takes a picture and puts the cellphone display in front of the security camera, the picture comes out flawless on the guard´s screen. In real life, it would look blurry."
In addition to that, shouldn't a cellphone's display turn off after a few seconds (or a few minutes, according to its settings)? --Sharky7 11:08, 16 March 2011 (EDT)
- According to its settings, it's possible it won't turn off at all. (That's why they're settings!) --ItsWalky 11:13, 16 March 2011 (EDT)
- I understand, I just didn't know that kind of settings could exist (I own a cellphone, but I never changed those settings about that "turning-off time" of the display). That's why I asked. --Sharky7 16:25, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
Confined Space
[edit]Is it an error that despite all the dangers mentioned in "Convoy", ratchet is able to ground bridge jack, miko and raf into a confined space? or is this just because the museum wasnt moving at 90 miles per hour?-Timmyformers0001
- One assumes so! Once Raf used his science to pinpoint the train and track it, Ratchet was OK with bridging them into it, even though it was still a confined space. --abates 05:45, 9 April 2011 (EDT)
