Talk:Devcon's galpal

I interpreted the scene as Devcon wordlessly sending her away because things were about to get dangerous, rather than her having to go, myself. --Monzo 05:07, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- That was my first interpretation of it as well. However, it made little sense to me after a bit of thinking/analyzing. First of all, the expressions don't quite match. Devcon seems somewhat sad in panel #2, while I can't get any emotion out of her expression - with her mouth open like that, it seems more like she is saying she has got to go than reacting to being send away. Secondly, at that point in time, Devcon doesn't know yet what the immediate future will be because the Dinobots have yet to agree to help him out. For all he knows he has to keep looking further for assistence. However, since this is only a moment before they answer Devcon's question, they must have already been told the entire situation, so it is very unlikely Devcon is sending her away because of any information she is not supposed to hear.
- In all, I concur it is a very ambigious situation, but since something has to be said about it, I chose to go with the interpretation as written. It just seems a bit more likely. Geewunling 05:21, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- What?
- Okay. Devcon is with galpal. Dinobots come to talk to Devcon. Devcon sends away galpal so he can talk with Dinobots alone. THAT IS IT. We even see Galpal with her hands all on Devcon's face while he's sticking out a thumb telling her to take a hike. And we know this Devcon's a jerk, so of course he's telling her to take a hike. "This is MAN TALK, GIRLY." I don't see this as at all ambiguous. --ItsWalky 09:41, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- If you think I am going to put effort into defending my stance, you are deadwrong. The author intent is pretty clear to me (the only reason these scenes don't make me cringe is because they make me laugh insanely, so wrong as they are). However, honesty to the imagery and context has me that I can not see it as Devcon sending her away, but her leaving on her own. Which is certainly not saying that's not because she's a girl - just that she may have beaten him to it before he was done with her. *shrugs* As I said, I am not going to defend this - it's too entertaining poking fun at, which I've otherwise done so.
- P.S. I prefer for us to keep that last image. I admit it doesn't add much to the page, but for as little as she appeared, might as well feature the most whole model. And besides, the image is relevant to the fiction section, and I know of more pages in which we are okay with more than one image for really small-time subjects. I could have the file name changed, if you want. Kinda happened by accident anyway it got uploaded with that name, though I chose to run with it. Geewunling 11:04, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- Maybe if it showed more than a inch or two of her hip. And it's not even an interesting hip. As-is, it's overkill. --ItsWalky 11:29, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- I disagree (that's a very interesting hip!), but won't object deletion of the image. I would appreciate a third opinion at least though (which likely will be in your vote's favour, but just for democracy's sake). Geewunling 13:10, 29 January 2010 (EST)
- Agree with Walky on the meaning, agree with Geewunling on keeping the picture. EVERYBODY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!! Khajidha 15:45, 29 January 2010 (EST)
