Talk:Diaclone
So, how much of the Diaclone line was actually used for Transformers? Was it all of it? Only some it? --Gouki 11:31, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Almost the entirety of the 1982, '83, and '84 molds were turned into Transformers. Specifically, starting with d37 (Countach Super Tuning) through d96 (Triple Changer jet/tank) along with w(aruder, the villains)7 through w10 (which became the Insecticons). Oddly, the last toy released for each faction, the helicopter/jet Triple Changer and Machine Dragon respectively, never became Transformers. Also left out were d63 through d65, the three Change Attackers. These were presumably shunned because they transformed from real civilian vehicles to combat vehicles instead of robots (ala the slightly later Kenner MASK), which would have gone against the ban on drivers in Transformers. You can see all the toys from their Super Robot beginnings in 1980 to the end here: http://diaclone.net/orid/list.html -Rotty 17:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, cool, thanks for that. So... since you know far more about it than I, should we actually put this sort of information in the actual page? --Gouki 03:16, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
About the catalogs.
[edit]I found some catalogs pics here, it would be valid if I take some of those for the article? MESIAS_ROCKET 22:12, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Toy listings
[edit]Should we have ALL Diaclone toys or only those that were later made into TFs? Should the toy listings be linked to the appropriate TF? Khajidha 11:50, 2 October 2009 (EDT)
- Added toys that became TFs. Still considering adding links to those TFs. Looking for more input on how best to handle that (differences in decos between Countach and Sunstreaker, etc).Khajidha 17:14, 3 October 2009 (EDT)
- Yeah, I was thinking something like [User:Mazenoise/Diaclone|this]]. -Mazenoise 05:55, 4 October 2009 (EDT)
- How about [User:Khajidha/sandbox/diaclone|this]]? I still need to add spacing and I haven't mentioned most later releases (Road Rage, Hauler, Artfire, etc.). I also haven't done anything with the other subgroups.Khajidha 13:15, 4 October 2009 (EDT)

How much info is too much?
[edit]I cleaned up/fixed/added info on the pre-Jumpstarters and pre-Constructicons. While writing up the Constructicon stuff, I realized that adding in which vehicles had grey roofs in version 2 and other smaller bits of info was maybe becoming too much, so I scaled it back to just listing the most obvious differences. I hope that's ok.RavenG 02:14, 17 April 2012 (EDT)
- I think you made the right call. It isn't really necessary for this site (being a TF wiki) to go into the little details of the Diaclone decos. Just noting, for example, that the "Concrete Mixer" was mostly red as opposed to Mixmaster's green should be enough. A little more detail might be necessary to distinguish the orange Construction Vehicle Robos from the orange G2 Constructicons. Details that only serve to distinguish one Diaclone deco from another should be saved for a Diaclone-centric website. --Khajidha 08:45, 17 April 2012 (EDT)
A Prime Problem
[edit]For some reason I don't see Battle Convoy anywhere on the page, which I'd imagine significant since it's pretty legendary. I'm also unsure if it was one of the numbered figures or not or where to fit it in (most likely car robots) but I AM certain it's a diaclone figure (powered convoy's on this page making it all the more strange that OP isn't here) so if someone could get to that that'd be nice.--BlackStarscream 16:48, 3 May 2012 (EDT)

"Lilac" 4WD Wrecker Type?
[edit]The page currently says that the Double Set includes a lilac 4WD Wrecker Type. I think "lilac" might be a mistake.

I would call it blue, but wanted to check in before changing it.

- I've just cross-checked my copy of Diaclone World Guide (this Takara guidebook) and yeah it's blue. Go for it. --AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 01:56, 18 January 2024 (EST)
I originally entered "lilac" as the colour. At most, you might classify it as mauve. It's absolutely nothing like blue. The blue parts on Mirage and Optimus Prime are blue. The Diaclone Hilux is lilac. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Repersonne (talk • contribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
Notes
[edit]Soooo talks about the Space Transformers line, looked it up... the first page you see features a bootleg Gundam head in the bottom left... should we mention that a little bit? Cause Mobile Suit Gundam is mentioned a few times throughout in relation to transformers here. SkywarpsTwin (talk)
