Talk:Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars: Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle
....okay. This is Japanese kata-whatever overkill. This is going to be Englished and moved. --ItsWalky 03:42, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- All right. Moved it around a bit. Each character already gets their foreign names listed on their individual pages, so there's no reason to bring them up elsewhere. Damn, I wish this thing had a shorter title. To link it, you have to remember a whole freakin' novel. --ItsWalky 05:25, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- Could we simply abbreviate it to "Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle"? That's no different than simply saying "Mystery of Convoy". We could reserve the novella title as a redirect.
- On the subject of making phrases more manageable, I'm tempted to reduce "Super Certain Kill Technique" to "Super Deathblow", which isn't quite as literal but is MUCH less awkward. I'm not sure how attached everyone is to the kitsch of the longer version, though.--Apcog 18:42, 11 July 2009 (EDT)
- Well, we could remove the "Transformers", since it isn't in the game itself. I'm not enamored with the idea of outright removing words in the title of the game just because it'd look prettier, though. —Interrobang 19:59, 11 July 2009 (EDT)
This supposed "certain kill technique" is the same expression that's typically translated as "Special Move." As it is, it's extremely literal and clunky. And in fact, it is just a strong special move, and not a Fatality or something like that. How would "Super Finisher" or "Super Finishing Move" be as an alternative? HydraDW 03:47, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
Title translation
[edit]I've moved the page to a more grammatical literal translation, Dueling Transformers Beast Wars: Strongest Beast Warrior Finals - 決闘 dueling (that's what "duel fight" is intended to mean), 最強 strongest, ビースト beast, 戦士 warrior, 決定戦 finals (aka playoffs). Basically, an elimination-style competition to determine the strongest beast warrior. JohnnyMrNinja 16:53, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
- Only to make it sound more wonky in English. The title didn't need so dramatic an overhaul. If anything, a more subtle change could have worked, but not like this. --Sabrblade 14:49, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
Intro text for reference
[edit](Updated with kanji for clarity; 水晶 is translated as quartz to differ it from the regular crystals that are apparently translated as 結晶 or クリスタル.)

謎の遺跡の水晶を求めるサイバトロンとデストロンが戦っていた
彼らが水晶の前に辿り着いたとき謎の声が聞こえた

As they reached the front of the Quartz, a mysterious voice was heard.
"To the strongest, this power shall be granted."
