Talk:Glit (KP)
Back to "Glitt"
[edit]Okay. I am proposing a move back to "Glitt" (with "Glit" redirecting). I KNOW "Glit" is on the tape proper, but Japanese-written Romazinations, 99% of the time, can be considered suggestions at best. Not only is "Glitt" as phoenetically correct as "Glit", but it creates a much more apparent association with "glitter", rather than, well, the clitoris. (Yeah, Kiss-Player is perverse, but I'm going to pretend it's not THAT perverse yet until someone in charge actually says "Oh, no, the pussycat is a pun on the clit.") We've already abandoned J-written Romanizations before, including KP's very own "Autrooper" because the Romaziations didn't reach what looks to be the intent of the crummy Japanglish name. --M Sipher 05:48, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think we can attribute "Glit" to intent, what with whatsherface pop idol personally designing the thing. Interrobang 07:36, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Because Japanese pop idols are GREAT at Romanizations. Hoo doggies. --M Sipher 09:35, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- I seem to remember seeing the name "Grit" pop up. This made sense to me because he's a Decepticon and a jaguar... out on the battlefield, things can be pretty gritty. And I assumed "Glit" was a corruption of that, given the conversion between Japanese and English. But if it's from Glitter, it's from Glitter... heck "Glitter" would have been a cool name... - 58.179.176.113 12:40, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Allegiance
[edit]Was there ever any explanation as to just how a Decepticon doctor ends up going on tour with three humans and two Autobots (well, one Autobot and one purported Autobot)? --Andrusi 17:07, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- None whatsoever. I imagine the character bios and the story role determined for them had very little to do with one another. You could probably make a case for there being relative peace between the Autobots and the less militant Decepticons after the events of the movie, and Glit's a pretty Autobotty 'Con to begin with. --Swift 17:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
