Grimlock's pretender shell doesn't look anything like Gregg Berger, other than being a white guy with dark hair! And considering the other shells don't look like THEIR voice actors, that makes this seem even more unlikely. This has got to go. --ItsWalky 15:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I've never seen Mr Berger myself, but I remember a bunch of folks remarking how much his program photo looked like Grimy's shell at Botcon a few years back. Myself I definately think there's a resemblence. Not just "white guy with dark hair" but white guy with dark hair, the same distinctive receeding hairline, very similar eyebrow shape, apple cheeks, lines under the eyes, and dimpled chin. I admit the other shells don't look like anyone special and it could definately be a total coincidence, but I do see the likeness. --ZacWilliam 21:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Keep in mind that you're comparing a 20-year-old toy with a current publicity photo. I find it really hard to believe --even disregarding the fact that I don't think the two heads look similar NOW, and that you're seeing things because you want to see things-- that Hasbro would have sculpted Grimlock's shell to look like young Berger as an older man. --ItsWalky 23:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Unless we have a pic of Berger 20 years ago it's hard to say. It's entirely possible he could have had the same distinctive hairline, forehead, eyebrows, cheeks and such then too, who knows. I'm not saying it was "definately" intentional, and I really don't have any reason to "want to see it," Grimlock's pretender shell was nowhere on my mind when I first saw a pic of Berger at Botcon, yet the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it was "Hey, they're right, he looks like the shell." Not a big deal, I just think it's a rather cute coincidence if nothing else.--ZacWilliam 00:23, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I dug this 2008 photo up of me with Gregg and we even touched on the matter. He had no clue about this. But he did agree he saw the resemblance. http://i42.tinypic.com/r7rl29.jpg Protoman 20:46, 19 February 2012 (EST)
Didn't folks used to reckon that the shell was based on Ed Asner? - Chris McFeely 22:32, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Jokingly, yes. --ItsWalky 23:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
