"Hasbro's Awful Decisions"

If you actually want to put something of this flavor in there, I for one strongly request you make it less arbitrary and easily debunked. Saying "Hasbro is bad because they cancelled lines nobody bought (6"Ti's)" and "Hasbro is bad because TrollSlayer3:16@webtv.net didn't like the new movie" is just absurd.

There is certainly room for criticism--indeed, strong criticism--of Hasbro's decision to kill off the pre-Movie stars, most conspicuously Prime; current Hasbro employees have gone on record, in newspapers, about how dumb and self-destructive that was. Putting out cartoon dubs with pervasive naming errors and basic English structure problems is also fair play. Heck, I think I'll get it started....--Thylacine 2000 14:54, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Didn't Hasbro and the Cartoon Network force Voicebox to shit out Armada, Energon (and to a lesser extent) Cybertron as quickly as possible? I recall an interview with the Voicebox dub writers/actors who said they had to do them very, very quickly. If so, we could say they're not only willing to allow the airing of incomplete shows, they're partly responsible for the poor quality. --FFN 03:09, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Owners of the Transformers Brand

Is it true that TOMY is considered the owner of the brand Transformers in Japan, and everywhere else Hasbro? I was under the impression that the two companies were joint-owners, and that Hasbro is merely the representative owner in all markets except Japan, where obviously it would be TakaraTomy.

Well, one has to consider that Hasbro manufactures Transformers "under license from TakaraTomy" (though in reality, nearly all Transformers toys released by both companies are manufactured by chinese factories contracted to TakaraTomy, according to Hasbro AU and Eric Siebenaler). --FFN 06:48, 10 September 2009 (EDT)

Meanwhile, I recall having read somewhere (might have been my conversation with George Dunsay a few years ago) that Hasbro licensed the "Transformers" name to Takara, in trademark terms at least. So I'd suggest that the two companies have a very convoluted controlling interest in the Transformers brand as a whole, which would be difficult, if not impossible, for us to figure out conclusively.--Nevermore 13:59, 26 September 2010 (EDT)

Former employees section?

We have a fair number of articles for former Hasbro employees which (from what I can tell) aren't really linked anywhere, or at least at a prominent central location besides the Hasbro category page. I just linked Rumble (G1)'s article to Vincent D'Alleva, the latter of which notes his extensive contributions to Transformers and yet few in the fandom have heard of him. You could say the same for George Dunsay. So, unless there's some sort of corporate sensitivities with Hasbro we would prefer to avoid, I think we should link them here. --FFN 07:34, 25 September 2012 (EDT)

More recent history

Is it worth mentioning in the History section about their acquisition of Disney and Power Rangers toy rights? In both cases, it meant getting a lucrative brand from a former competitor (Mattel and Bandai of America, respectively) that significantly increased their share in the toy market.
