Coming Soon

[edit]

Minor request, but is there a way we can group together the 'coming soon' toys? In lines where a lot of things are announced, it makes it extremely hard to read a page with that big banner ever two lines. - TFVanguard 21:22, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

Standardising

[edit]

Most of the links on this page don't work, because they point to sections called Henkei! Henkei! within the character articles, but most (not all) those sections have since been changed to either Henkei! Henkei! Transformers (plural) or Henkei! Henkei! Transformer (singular).

Can we decide upon a standard, site-wide name for this line, so it says the same thing across all the characters' pages?
My vote is for just whatever matches this page title - at the moment that's just Henkei! Henkei!. -- Magnus Maximus 10:36, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

"Henkei! Henkei!" matches our standard to leave out the "Transformers" part of toyline names, so yeah. —Interrobang 12:21, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
Shall which came in which wave be included?--Lonegamer78 15:15, 17 November 2008 (EST)

Urinal Contest Beginning

[edit]

Okay, despite the fact that Takara is soliciting 'Cheetas' rather than 'Cheetus' on every single document they've shown with romanization on it, we're seeing the beginnings of an 'edit war' with Interro' and his insistance on using the TV Magazine Trading Card romanizations on every single Japanese TF reference despite their inaccuracy, no matter how stupid or inane the changes he's making are. Can someone make a declaration on this one? - TFVanguard 12:50, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

USA editions

[edit]

Are they technically part of Henkei! Henkei!? They don't come with manga (nor do they show up in the manga, as far as I know), and they're packaged in Hasbro's English-language Universe boxes with just a couple of stickers slapped on top. Of course the stickers are in Japanese, so I don't know if they say "Henkei" anywhere, but if they don't, then can we really consider them part of the same line? - Jackpot 01:20, 25 November 2008 (EST)

I'd say yes they do count, if only on the basis that they don't fit into any other Japanese line that's going, plus since they're simply more examples of Universe toys with more show-accurate redoecos, they're really exactly the same MO as Henkei, minus the Vac-metal. It's just too logical a fit.122.105.188.162 04:28, 29 January 2009 (EST)
I understand all that, but it seems notable that Takara has made a distinction. It's not just the lack of vac-metal, it's also the fact that (as far as I know) the characters don't even appear in the Henkei! manga. There really seems to be a line in the sand there, and I'm not sure exactly how to deal with it. - Jackpot 13:02, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Vac-Metal

[edit]

Just wanted to explain my change to the intro. Seems to me that the reason for the vac-metallized parts is pretty obvious, actually: it's an homage to the chromed parts and weapons found in heaps of the G1 toys from the first year or so of the franchise. e.g. Most of the G1 Autobot cars from the first year-ish had chromed guns & missles, Prime's thighs, tanks, headlights, bumper and grill, Meg's upper body, the Dinobots' tails, wings, spikes and frills, Soundwave's crotch and eject buttons etc. Even some later characters like Springer's gun and sword hilt or Deathsaurus' beastmode chickzilla-head.

Now, granted, some of the applications of the vac-metal in Henkei seems gratuitious and inappropriate (hellooo Galvatron) and are clearly only there for the already-stated "line-wide commonality", but I think the overall reason for applying the concept to the line as a whole has a VERY clear inspiration. Thanks.122.105.188.162 04:28, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Yeah, but that isn't funny. -hx 10:02, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Neither was the original wording. - Jackpot 13:02, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Exactly. It doesn't have to be funny. It's informative. Not to mention worth saying. The primary purpose of this wiki is information, not comedy. If you can do both, be my guest.122.105.188.162 08:10, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Gentei

[edit]

Checking through Million's site on the mail-away exclusives, Electro Disruptor Ligier (or Clear Mirage for others) is packaged with "Gentei! Gentei!" rather than the usual "Henkei". Million's page on Skids and Screech, plus ED Ligier in-package. I'm wondering if we should move ED Ligier, and Ghost Starscream at that, to Gentei section instead of under just the Exclusive section. Heck, this page even uses "Gentei! Gentei!". --Lonegamer78 09:47, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
