Talk:Highbrow (TF 2010)

I don't really see the resemblance to the XF5U (removed the reference - if you put it back, can you point out what's so similar?). I could've sworn I saw a German prototype or design study that looked like Highbrow's vehicle mode, but can't find anything on Luft 46 that matches. There might be some influence from the Blohm & Voss P.170, what with the general fuselage shape, the cockpit being set so far behind the wing and Highbrow's nose having an intake and propeller cone (but no prop). I think the connection's probably too tenuous to add, but maybe someone else can take a look and see. --Torgo 20:35, 10 November 2010 (EST)

To me the cockpit set up being so far back is more reminiscent of the Grumman XF5F Skyrocket than anything else. But even that is tenuous. Unless a designer comes forward with more information "modified P-38" is probably as good as we can get. --Khajidha 15:12, 19 November 2010 (EST)
Look at it in profile, the way the cockpit is at the very back and the general lines. That, and the fuselage front section (fake engine). There might be a bit of Skyrocket in there, too. I swear I've seen something closer than just a P-38, but I just can't place it. --Torgo 19:03, 21 November 2010 (EST)
The P170 has the cockpit way at the end of the tail, much further back than Highbrow's. The faux central engine, maybe. But, again, unless a designer says one way or another we probably can't make any definitive statements. --Khajidha 19:10, 21 November 2010 (EST)
...I think I see some Pond Racer in there too... - The Bushranger 00:19, 12 November 2012 (EST)
That looks substantially less like Highbrow than the P-38. --ItsWalky 01:08, 12 November 2012 (EST)

Which Universe?

[edit]

Is there any indication on what universe this guy is from? Is he from the movieverse, because it mentions The Fallen? Bioniclepluslotr 23:14, 4 April 2011 (EDT)

Resemblance to GoBots Bolt?

[edit]

Highbrow kind of resembles the GoBot, Bolt, in his coloration and alt-mode. Perhaps this was intentional? --Kaymac192 12:57, 13 May 2011 (EDT)

The link to Timelines Obsidian is going to the fiction setting, not the toys section. I've been looking through helpfiles but I can't figure out the proper syntax for a good link. The Powerdive page has the same link to Obsidian, with the same issue. Wheelbug (talk) 15:17, 26 June 2019 (EDT)

The link will go to the first section named Timelines, which leads you to the fiction setting. What you need to do is set up an anchor in the toys section, that utilizes a different name then Timelines. You type the anchor like this: {{anchor|Timelinestoy}} or what ever you want the name to be. Then the link would be typed as if the anchor was a section, so: [[Obsidian (BM)#Timelinestoy]] --notirishman (talk) 15:23, 26 June 2019 (EDT)
That did the trick. Thank you very much! Wheelbug (talk) 17:16, 26 June 2019 (EDT)
Alternately, you can type [[Obsidian (BM)#Timelines 2]]. That depends on the number of sections with the same name not changing, though. Saix (talk) 21:12, 26 June 2019 (EDT)
