Woah, woah, woah. I'mma stop a big bunch of link changes before we get started. Didn't see this proposal before. So as I gather, either attempt at figuring out the meaning of his name is a guess? Well, maybe we should go with the one that *doesn't* make him seem to be an eleven year old girl, and which was used in a set of subtitles that were produced with as much care as was possible. - Chris McFeely 18:03, 19 January 2012 (EST)
- Yeah, if you wanted to get feedback, Interrobang, you should've started discussion on the talk page instead of just tagging a move template, not everyone'll notice that. As for the argument that because it's written with long vowels in katakana... well, I'd just like to quickly point out that cake is written ケーキ. Sometimes the long vowel in katakana doesn't mean the romanization needs multiple vowels or consonants. --Detour 18:13, 19 January 2012 (EST)
- Yeah, I was putting off any link changes till I was sure nobody had a problem (if consensus is against me, we can just move it back and revert my edit). The long vowels are an argument against the idea that it's a pun on "police", which doesn't have long vowels. Without that etymology, "Holi" makes little sense. After that, "Holley" is the only thing that makes some sense for ホーリー. (I'm not sure why you're bringing up "cake".) —Interrobang 18:27, 19 January 2012 (EST)
- While Police is indeed rendered in katakana as ポリス... Interpol is rendered as インターポール. So there's precent here for a long vowel for the "po" part of police. And there's also the fact that his name being a tribute to the Holley parts manufacturer makes no lick of sense when factoring in the rest of his team, that uses name very closely associated with their altmodes. In fact, I'd even sooner say his name is derived from an onomatopeia of the police siren sounds before I'd say it's a Holley tribute. --Detour 18:38, 19 January 2012 (EST)

- Yyyyeah. I'm gonna vote fore returning this to "Holi", for all the reasons noted above... I'd also like to point to "the rest of the team's names" as a MAJOR factor against "Holley". --M Sipher 20:16, 19 January 2012 (EST)
