Talk:Ian James Corlett
'a hatred of anime dubbing'? Is that true? It also sounds rather opinionated on the part of the edit. --FFN 13:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Its actually quite true. In interviews he downplays the "money issues" in regards as to why he quite the Ocean Group and plays up how much he loathes the dubbing process. Says he hates the restrictions and the fact that you can't work with other people. He also says he'll never do it again and will only do voice tracks in groups. I'll see if I can track down one of his interviews and post a link. He berates the dubbing process quite frequently, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one. --DrSpengler 17:37, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ahh, I understand now. Wow, man sure knows how to burn his bridges. I recall an interview Mouth04 conducted where he said he had auditioned for the role of Hot Shot in Cybertron, but felt he didn't get the role because of this evidently well-known anti-dubbing stance of his. --FFN 02:46, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
He doesn't seem to do much voice over work these days, which is a crying shame, because I really loved the guy's voice. However, his voice is apparently VERY easy to immitate. Just ask his replacements on DBZ, Reboot and whoever did Cybertron Hot Shot (that was a real good impression). I kinda understand why he hates dubbing anime, but with today's animation market in the US being predominantly dubbed anime, well, he didn't do his career any favors. --DrSpengler 03:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
