Talk:Lazerback (Prime)

Just FYI, this is almost certainly going to get moved to "Laserback", which is what was on the packaging shown at NYCC. Hasbro blows spellings on their slideshows constantly (for example, the "Tralcutter" shown in that selfsame presentation). -LV 16:01, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Typo?

[edit]

Was "rouge" intentional, or should it be "rogue"? --Flicky1991 14:25, 9 February 2013 (EST)

Yeah, unless there was a memo I missed about describing characters' colour schemes (in French) in intro sections, I think it's probably a mistake. Jalaguy 14:29, 9 February 2013 (EST)

In hand toy observances.

[edit]

Few things to note.

  • His axe is specifically designed for his right hand, despite what the packaging and promo pictures suggest (The peg and space is offset/shaped to perfectly fit the right hand). Not entirely a big issue considering the rubbery plastic deforms very easily and allows the left hand with some cramming, but the Takara version will probably have issues.
  • His beast-mode tail doesn't lower entirely (at least on mine) unless his missile launcher (and missile) are pressed in tight against his back. Possible stress/warping issue with the tail-end of the missile considering it's holding down a big piece of plastic that doesn't want to stay down? Something to mildly worry about if you intend to keep him in beast mode posed like that for a long time.
  • The rubbery fronds either side of his robot head (His beast mode 'ears'?) need to be folded back (The instructions don't say you need to, and there's grooves in his back to accommodate them.) if you want to use his missile launcher with it's panels open (Which the instructions do call out, oops!) otherwise they'll deform. Not an issue with the rubbery plastic of the Hasbro version, but I can forsee some warping/breakage with the Takara version if they use harder plastics.
