What would people think about creating a "Time Travellers" Category. I think there's DEFINATELY enough of them to fill it out?--ZacWilliam 12:54, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I think that's a neat idea in principle, but it would require a precise definition. For example, do the Aerialbots count? They don't have time travel capabilities, but they have travelled through time. I would favor a category that excludes instances like that, assuming there are enough people for it. --Steve-o 17:38, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

His notes read "The next time January 2nd falls on a Wednesday is 2013. Your Meantime figure acts as a functional watch for one second, roughly every seven years." What does it mean? --66.82.9.57 21:11, 19 November 2011 (EST)

It's a variation on the old "even a broken clock is right twice a day" thing. In 2013 there actually is a Wednesday, January 2. Therefore, on that date the fake clock face on this toy will be displaying correct information for exactly one second (05:17:40). --Khajidha 21:17, 19 November 2011 (EST)

Keep as one page or split?

[edit]

Now that Ask Vector Prime has identified "Autobot" from The War Within #2 as a Primax Meantime, should Dreamwave G1 Meantime get his own page or be added to this one? We know next-to-nothing about Dreamwave G1 Meantime, so he wouldn't have much of a page, but he's not a Real Gear Robot like movie Meantime, and that aspect of movie Meantime pretty much makes up his opening write-up. We've had articles on less, I'd just say to put it on a G1 page. (We could've done the same with the Mini-cons who are mentioned in the Fire in the Dark page, I felt.) Escargon (talk) 20:51, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
We know nothing about the new guy except that he's a watch, which matches up with the movie guy. My vote is keep them together. If we get new fiction we can always reconsider.--Giggidy (talk) 20:59, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
Why, though? We have pages for one-note appearences like SG Leader-One. Why should this guy be any different? Escargon (talk) 21:01, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
(Also, there was a very clear intention that some of those Mini-Cons were orignally Primax Beast Wars and movie characters, and Jim just repurposed them.) Escargon (talk) 21:02, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
I said why. Vector Prime has said that the Continuity Family distinction is arbitrary, and keeping them together seems simpler and more informative to me. But, whatever, I usually get out voted on this issue. --Giggidy (talk) 21:09, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
That was more for stories. One Meantime is a watch born on Earth from Allspark radiation. The other one is a full fledged Cybertronian from millions of years ago. They share nothing in common beyond a name and an altmode. Escargon (talk) 21:12, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
And frankly, I'm fine with the Beast Wars characters in Fire in the Dark and the cartoon staying where they are, but some of these mini-cons are clearly intended to be separate characters from separate continuities. It's better that we don't do things like Wikipedia for this sort of thing. Escargon (talk) 21:17, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
I agree that separate characters should be on separate pages. I just think that we should be more lax about combining the same character from separate continuities. The assumptipn that different family must equal a different character seems lIke a falso one to me. --Giggidy (talk) 21:27, 11 September 2015 (EDT)
