Transformers: Micronauts
[edit]So, just to shoot a hypothetical, assuming the "Transformers: Micronauts" thing ever happens, will we then split it so we have a "Micronauts (IDW)" page, "Transformers: Micronauts" page, and a "Micronauts (franchise)" page? Because it was because of the "Transformers: Micronauts" thing that I thought it warranted a franchise page (like we have with G.I. Joe). --DannyBoy (talk) 11:34, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- All we have of "Transformers: Micronauts" is a single picture. If it ever actually happens, then I'd say yes, separate "Micronauts (comic)" and a "Micronauts (franchise)" pages would be fine. --Riptide (talk) 11:37, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
Micronauts: Revolution
[edit]I can't say I agree with relegating issues to a subsection of this page. It's really inelegant and risks burdening the page with length. Saix (talk) 13:00, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- I'd be fine with a separate page, but I think this is okay. If it gets burdened down, yeah, we can revisit it, but given that the extent of the Transformers content was one panel, I think this is a reasonable compromise. --Riptide (talk) 13:02, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- For reference, the idea discussed on the Allspark is that issues with very brief Transformer appearances like this would get a quick summary on this article, whereas any issues with Transformers properly guest starring would be linked out to a full issue article. Jalaguy (talk) 13:03, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- That seems too inconsistent and will be a linking nightmare. Saix (talk) 13:09, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- Linking nightmare? If a link to one of the issues on this article was called for, you'd simply link to the header or an anchor, no...? Jalaguy (talk) 13:14, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- I suppose I'm exaggerating, but it'd be annoying having to remember which issue is good enough for an article or not. The wind doesn't seem to be blowing in my favor about this, so meh. Saix (talk) 13:20, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- I'm with Saix on this. The first appearance of Micronus Prime in the IDW universe is a big enough deal to give it a page. Especially considering that, moving forward, these books are going to be in the Transformers universe. What if Micronus ends up being a big deal in later Micronauts issues? To be frank, it seems like a lot of people are just resistant to the idea of the shared universe, and so are resistant to more of it's inclusion on this wiki. In a weird way, these ARE Transformers characters now. I'm not saying we need to include everything, but when an actual Transformers character appears and is pretty relevant to the plot? Yeah. --DannyBoy (talk) 13:40, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- I have said this on the AllSpark and I will say it again here - the Transformer relevance of Microanuts: Revolution is a single panel, and literal sentence's worth of information. And, that information will, with 100% certainty, be reiterated multiple times in multiple other comics featuring Transformers properly as part of Revolution that can and will be linked to over and over again. The only relevance this particular comic will have will be to say "this is where it was indicated first, in one panel and one line of dialogue." - Chris McFeely (talk) 13:45, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- Bingo. I know this makes some people break out in hives, but this is a case where we are going to have to deal with some subjectivity in our procedures, and may force us to re-work some older articles to reflect the changing landscape. This really doesn't justify more than a note as part of a larger article. --M Sipher (talk) 15:08, 28 September 2016 (EDT)

- I think you're intentionally downplaying the impact of Micronus here, Chris. You say "the Transformer relevance of Microanuts: Revolution is a single panel, and literal sentence's worth of information," but neglect to mention that that single panel is a full-page splash, 1/20th of the entire book, and that they spend two pages talking about him obliquely before we see him. I think its a legitimage paragraph of information. They may not change your conclusion about how to document it, but you should at least make honest arguments. There are also Transformers on the cover, which is always warranted some kind of mentioned in the past. --Jimsorenson (talk) 15:50, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
Converting to franchise
[edit]Given the majority of the information on this page is about the franchise as a whole anyway, how would we feel about the idea of converting this article into a more generalized franchise page following the likes of G.I. Joe (franchise) and M.A.S.K. (franchise) with an overview of the Micronauts comic title(s) as a subsection? -AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 17:14, 5 July 2022 (EDT)
- I can get behind that. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 17:33, 5 July 2022 (EDT)
