Talk:Mirage (G1)
Early chatter
[edit]Does any one know why Mirage's RM release ic called "Rijie"? I had heard it involved a dispite with the owner of the team the racer G1 Mirage was based on, but has this been confirmed? --FortMax 20:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC) Mirage's original name was "Ligier", right? Ligier was either the manufacturer or the sponsor of the original car type, yeah, so they went with "Rijie", which might as well be "Ligier" in Japanese, it just looks retarded in English. -hx 00:26, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Two things - first, the justification for the "sounds like" change. While Mirage does sound something like Bing Crosby, he also sounds like Dean Martin, and the fact that Welker presumably based the voice on a brief character sketch like "irresponsible playboy" means that's almost certainly what he intended. Someone should ask him someday.
Second, curiously enough, RM Mirage's instructions explicitly call him "Ligier" in English, even though the box calls him "Rijie". -LV 00:03, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
I shall just point out that the new "animated series" text was copied over by the anonymous user in question from Wikipedia, but I wrote it (well, apart from that gubbins about Mirage's alleged role in season 3 and his fragile toy), so I'm savvy with it being up 'ere. - Chris McFeely 20:21, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. I have a feeling Beachcomber's text is copied too, then, and since it's not in the same style, I have a feeling it's not yours... --ItsWalky 20:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Forsooth, sir, you speak true. - Chris McFeely 20:26, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Is the "Plasma Injection Energy stands for pie" a placeholder joke until someone feels like linking to Plasma energy?
- Before any of us had seen pics of Classics Mirage, Kyde had posted that Classics Mirage had pie. Hence the joke. --FortMax 04:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Plasma Injection Energon DOES stand for "pie." It's not a joke. (Look at the icon next to it. Pie.) --ItsWalky 04:46, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Is it possible to obtain a full-body shot of Mirage of the current main picture? I know its from a picture of him and Jazz, but it looked like Mark Brooks had drawn the entire body. --FFN 02:43, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- No. --ItsWalky 02:52, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Since BT-18 Mirage is going to be clear, should that toy have its own entry or be part of thr Alt Mirage entry? --FortMax 14:58, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Eventually - since we don't know anything about it yet. --FFN 15:13, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Without even knowing much more than its name, I would say it SHOULD get its own bullet-pointed entry, since the name implies that it will be entirely clear-plastic where possible, a significantly-different coloration. --M Sipher 21:26, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- I generally prefer to make entries when there's information to be had, as well as pics if possible. I don't like the abundance of unwritten toy sections on this wiki, especially as not many people are interested in writing them (but I do) and I don't own most of them. --FFN 07:55, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Binaltech's bio?
[edit]So, has anyone translated the bio on the BT box of clear mirage?

Final G1 toy release
[edit]The introduction to his G1 toy section lists a "1991" version, but the text says his final release was in 1986. Which is it? --Thylacine 2000 23:45, 9 March 2012 (EST)
Mainpic
[edit]I know mainpic discussions are usually pointless, but.. Mirage has the same image and caption for his main and toy pages. Isn't that usually avoided? I distinctly remember the main page having a different pic anyways.. Avalanche (talk) 20:06, 24 March 2017 (EDT)
- It did, but it was a despicable piece of murky half-body Dreamwave art, so I replaced it with his boxart. It was only after that that he got a toy sub-page and someone replicated the boxart there. I've no problem replacing the mainpic if we can find a better one, but good pictures of Mirage are in surprisingly short supply. If someone could take a nice photo of a bunch of Mirage figures together it'd be a nicer mainpic for the toy page. - Chris McFeely (talk) 20:31, 24 March 2017 (EDT)

Coastal Elite
[edit]I think we should remove this joke and just let the traitor note stand alone, or replace this joke with something more people can agree is funny or is at least timely, like trust fund babies or suffering for privilege or something about old money that isn't tied to a geo-political group.--Karanseraph (talk) 21:05, 10 July 2023 (EDT)
- What is wrong with saying 'coastal elite', anyway? Is there some offence of which I am not aware? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 16:23, 27 July 2023 (EDT)
