Talk:Moon (BW)

Since Moon hails from Gaia's past and Gaia is a future version of Earth it seems likely that he was of human construction.

I don't see anything wrong with this statement. It's a logical, important inferrence based on the evidence presented. What is untrue about this statement? It says he is likely of human construction, because it is. I mean, who else from future Earth will build him? Sentient cockroaches which took over after we all died? That's an even bigger assumption than the human angle. That it's probable, given the evidence presented, that he was built by humans is an important thing to say. --ItsWalky 07:17, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

The fact that it's a "possibility" leaves a bad taste in my mouth; I'm of the opinion that we should be sticking to what the fiction says and nothing more. Putting up possibilities implies that they have some sort of credence beyond fan assumption, and there's no clear line as to what possibilities are acceptable and what aren't. In this case, one could also claim the possibility of Moon being built by Artemis, and thus would have to put this possibility in the article, too. I'd prefer to just avoid that altogether. Interrobang 09:22, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Well the article begins with "Moon is a relic from the past of the planet Gaia." So he's a robot from Earth who's not of Cybertronian origin (also in there). *Very* likely built by humans then. I think the line (and others like it) is fine as long as it mentions that it's "likely" not definate.
As for how the line is drawn between "likely" and too-out-there speculation? How about with common sense. I hate it when institutions make things doubly difficult and convoluted by catering to the lowest common denominator. Most of use here are smart people, if something is TOO speculative we'll feel it and take it out. If it's boarderline we'll debate it and come to a concensus. No need to get draconian about any little helpful inference in the fear that it'll lead to fannon leaking in. We've got a better handle on things than that I think. -ZacWilliam (who keeps forgetting to log in). :)
"Catering to the lowest common denominator"? You're the one arguing to keep this in, as readers are somehow incapable of coming to that conclusion without it spelled out for them. Present the canon and let them come to their own conclusions without us giving credence to our own opinions. Interrobang 11:55, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree. It's "possible" that Moon was built by Transformers on Earth, isn't it? That whole Transformers: The Movie thing? Autobots and humans living side-by-side? And then Unicron blew up, and then Galvatron and Magmatron searched for Angolmois. Isn't it more likely that Transformers on Earth built Moon than humans? Either way, it's speculation that lends undue credibility to a contested theory. --Crockalley 13:08, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, considering he's "not of Cybertronian origin," I would say definitely no. So what are we down to? --ItsWalky 14:44, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
If the assumption is so obvious, then why put it in the article? --Crockalley 14:54, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, the article at present doesn't say that Gaia is future-Earth. The Trivia item Interrobang removed (seen above) removed a crucial piece of the puzzle. --ItsWalky 15:03, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

manga/comic

[edit]

shouldn't there be a part in this article mentioning his role in the comic,,,,, it was almost exactly the same —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.203.191.100 (talkcontribs).

Yes, it should, but it should also be written in-universe like all our other fiction sections. --abates 16:45, 12 June 2011 (EDT)

Pictures of this toy on a Japanese blog

[edit]

This Japanese blog has a lot of good shots of this toy. JohnnyMrNinja

The coloring of the toy in those pictures (and the one on the page for that matter) seems to be off. It seems they were digitally edited or put in certain light conditions to look closer to his coloration in the show. In other pictures you can see that the plastic is not all one color as he has a lot of yellow parts on his limbs. --Railbomb (talk) 20:38, 2 May 2016 (EDT)
What? I have the figure in hand and every part of it that's yellow in those pics is yellow on my figure and in all other pics there are of the figure. --Sabrblade (talk) 21:54, 2 May 2016 (EDT)
Compared to Pictures here and here there is a much more aparent difference in plastic colors than in the picture currently being used. --Railbomb (talk) 23:22, 4 May 2016 (EDT)
Mine looks like those too. It's just the non-bright lighting in the pics from the Japanese blog that's making the two yellows look the same, but they really aren't. Feel free to upload a better-lit image of Moon's toy if you feel so inclined. --Sabrblade (talk) 23:32, 4 May 2016 (EDT)
I can see the different yellows just fine. Get a better monitor, maybe? Saix (talk) 13:48, 5 May 2016 (EDT)
