Spellings
[edit]I know that whatever spellings are used in TF sources are what we go by, but as other changes have been made to the actual FB posts in the past I figured I'd mention here that the original packaging for these toys uses the "e"-less spellings for all of them except Snarlie-Narlie: narliphant, narlihog, narligator, narlilizard (aka narlinurtle), narlibat, narlirhino, narlilion, narlibaboon. --Khajidha (talk) 10:29, 4 April 2016 (EDT)
- The singular of Narlie is definitely Narlie. Otherwise the plural would be Narlis. The clue is that Snarlie Narlie isn't called 'Snarlie Narli'Blueshift (talk) 13:44, 17 May 2016 (EDT)
- As I said, ALL of the toys EXCEPT Snarlie-Narlie used the spelling without the "E". "The clue", as you say, is that I said "original packaging". Meaning that I have actual evidence on my side unlike your useless smartassery. --Khajidha (talk) 14:09, 17 May 2016 (EDT)
- Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude! Please don't take it that way! But all the documentation has consistently called the singular 'Narlie', the Narlie names are portmanteaus of Narlie + animal name, ie Narliphant = Narlie + Elephant. What I meant is that Narlie in its singular form is only used in the Snarlie Narlie name (and all the supplementary material). Blueshift (talk) 16:00, 18 May 2016 (EDT)
- If you look at the original packaging you see things like "NARLIGATOR (evil) Meaner than the meanest Rock Lord, the Narligator lives among the evil rock Warriors. Even Magmar keeps a respectful distance from this quick-tempered Narli." Note the usage of "Narli" as the singular. If this has been deliberately changed for their TF appearances, we should note it. If the usage of "Narlie" as a singular was an error we should note that. The original source material is all over the place, but we should be consistent. The most common spellings on packages are Snarlie-Narlie (unique case), NarliX where X is the animal type, Narly as singular, Narlies as plural.
