Talk:Nemesis Prime (disambiguation)
There is a Nemesis prime from Dreamwaves The War Within series. Should we have an article on this guy?--Autobotx1010 20:27, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Dark Ages of Age of Wrath? -- SFH 20:30, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- There is no Nemesis Prime in the Dreamwave comics. There was a 3" Titanium War Within Nemesis Prime (repaint of TWW Prime) displayed at Comic-Con last year, but it was never released. It should be mentioned as an unreleased toy of Nemesis Prime (G1), but should not get its own page. --ItsWalky 20:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- But the two are different characters! Should we just put a small "we have no clue who or what this guy is nor why he`s here" notice on the disambiguation page?--Autobotx1010 19:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Define "different characters." They're both black repaints of Optimus Prime who live in the Generation 1 continuity family named Nemesis Prime, and one of them wasn't even produced, keeping us from knowing anything specific about him, storywise, beyond that. The unreleased G1 Titanium should be a footnote on the Nemesis Prime (G1) page. Even beyond that, having conflicting versions of the same guy isn't really reason to split up the page. --ItsWalky 19:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Is G1 Nemesis Prime major now?
[edit]Seeing as how G1 Nemesis Prime has gotten several new toys in mainstream toylines recently, is it worth adding him to the Major Nemesis Primes section? Omegatron (talk) 05:49, 30 September 2019 (EDT)
- No, "Major" iterations are determined by appearances in fiction, not number of toys. Armada, Prime and TLK Nemesis all appeared in cartoons and movies, hence why they're denoted as such. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 08:05, 30 September 2019 (EDT)
- Why do only appearances in media matter? I was thinking, from the point of view of a new fan who has just bought POTP or Siege Nemesis Prime, having him in the Major section would be helpful. Omegatron (talk) 09:25, 30 September 2019 (EDT)
- Prominence in fiction has always been the deciding factor in who we consider "major" in the grand scheme. The only reason G1 Nemesis has so many toys is because he's an easy redeco; beyond that, he hasn't really had much of an impact. Nearly all of his fiction is drawn from toy bios, and he hasn't been considered important enough to appear in major mainstream media, not even IDW's comics or any of the web series. The fact is, he's just not that notable. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 09:58, 30 September 2019 (EDT)

Scourge is a Nemesis Prime
[edit]This came up in a discussion in the TFWiki discord server, so I'll copy it to the site. I believe it is appropriate for the wiki to consider including Scourge in the "Major Nemesis Primes" section, with an embedded image to deliniate their importance. After all, the Major X section was introduced for wiki users who aren't necessarily as lost in the sauce as we are, and may gloss over the names in the "Not to be confused with" list.
Strictly speaking, I'm not advocating for a total weakening of the disambiguation page to a more general "here's who you may be thinking of" page; putting Downshift as a Major Wheeljack would be a mistake for sure. I just believe it's appropriate to make an exception here given that Scourge is a Black Convoy, and all Nemesis Primes have been known as Black Convoy by Takara - with the exception of both evil UT Optimus Prime redecoes, who are both named Scourge and Grand Scourge respectively!
I'd be happy to make the change myself, but I don't want to go ahead without checking with anyone else only to have it immediately reverted. Sky Shadow (talk) 10:26, 16 February 2020 (EST)
- Forgot to add: It may also be relevant to promote at least him, but maybe also Grand Scourge out of the "Not to be confused with" list if this happens, but not necessary if that's deemed a bridge too far. And no, this wouldn't mean removing him from the relevant sections in Scourge (disambiguation); sometimes a character can be two things. Sky Shadow (talk) 10:28, 16 February 2020 (EST)
I think Rid 2001 Scourge is Nemesis Prime alongside with Grand Scourge. It's very very easy. But RiD01 must be on the Scourge disambiguation page too. Kiké Prime (talk) 17:32, 4 August 2021 (EDT)
- Scourge is listed on the disambiguation page already, just in the "Not to be Confused With" section which is appropriate since they are not the same character, but similar in color and concept.TitaniumToughGuy (talk) 22:12, 4 August 2021 (EDT)
