Extending protection period

[edit]

Is there any chance we can delay unprotection for a week after it airs so we can avoid the inevitable glut of anons adding dumb crap? —Interrobang 20:45, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

I second that. -- Spydersix 18:05, 7 April 2012 (EDT)
I disagree! Not all anon contributions are bad, and the Crossfire page would be a lot barer without them. Also, we're a wiki "that anyone can edit or add to" according to our own main page. --abates 18:38, 7 April 2012 (EDT)

Trivia Change (spoiler warning)

[edit]

"No Decepticons appear in this episode"

What do you call Breakdown's body, then?

Whoops, forgot about that. -- Spydersix 21:23, 7 April 2012 (EDT)
Technically he's not a Decepticon any more! --abates 01:36, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
That is true.... -- Spydersix 09:07, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
How about: "No living Decepticons appear in this episode"? -- Spydersix 09:39, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
Scrapheap had no Decepticons last season. How is the abscence of any Decepticon's noteworthy when it's happened before? 76.186.105.81 17:36, 9 April 2012 (EDT)
...because it's still something that rarely happens? --Andrusi 16:14, 10 April 2012 (EDT)
"No Decepticons appear" is already evident from the character list. We don't need redundant notes. —Interrobang 16:17, 10 April 2012 (EDT)
Should "Mech has used all autobots for some purpose except Ratchet and Bulkhead" be added?--NexusPrime98
If you have to add exceptions, particularly if there is more than one, it probably doesn't need to be mentioned. --Khajidha 14:04, 13 April 2012 (EDT)
Good Point. -- NexusPrime98 14:08, 13 April 2012 (EDT)

Military base

[edit]

Can someone with the closed captions available grab the name of the military base Nemesis attacks partway through? --abates 04:01, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Yup. Alden Military Base. TheMZone 10:47, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Physics much?

[edit]

Um hey guys, I think the writers of Transformers prime ignored the forces of physics in this episode. When Fowlers car dropped and Bulkhead jumped after it, Bulkhead hit the ground first and caught the sedan with a wait period of about 1 minute or so from jump to landing. Now my father is an astro physicist for NASA and i spoke to him about this (even showed him the episode) and he said that all physical dynamics was thrown out the window. Objects dropped at different times will land at different times. Meaning Fowlers car should have landed first regardless of how heavy Bulkhead is. This is because weight doesn't affect the acceleration of an object being dropped. Like the feather and the bowling ball, if dropped at the same time, will land at the same time. The only way that scenario can change is if you factor in the variable of wind resistance, and in the case of the feather and the bowling ball, then yes, the feather would experience more wind resistance and fall after the bowling ball, which would experience less. This is because of mass, and the shape of the object. (I.E is it aerodynamic or not?) However both Fowlers car and the obviously bulky Blulkhead both have obscured non-aerodynamic shapes and great mass (Bulkhead having slightly more mass) their wind resistance would be close to absolutely similar. My father (the astrophysicist) having seen the episode and Bulkheads size versus the car still believed that their wind resistance would be very similar and have little affect on the outcome of the fall. (Like seeing a Simi versus a Sedan fall out of a plane, the Sedan would still land first, therefor so should Fowlers car.) The fact that Bulkhead landed first with ENOUGH TIME to catch Fowlers sedan is just... impossible.

Can we add something about this phenomenon under the technical errors tab? --Arcee-Cola 1:20, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Yes, that sequence totally ignored the laws of physics, no question. --abates 04:46, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
Thanks, glad I and my physics-minded father could help out. You know, maybe if Bulkhead had some serious alien tech-like gravity boots or due-ex-machina whathaveyou, then maybe, maaaaybe, the ridiculousness could obscure the obvious middle finger to illimitable laws of physics. Take that Sir Isaac Newton! --Arcee-Cola 2:15, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Knockoff

[edit]

It is the second time a cartoon character mentions one's clone is a knockoff, the first time was Megatron saying that starscream was hiding behind an army of cheap knockoffs. Should we add that ? SnipinScientist 8 April 2012

No. —Interrobang 11:54, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Fowler's Plate Number

[edit]

Should it be mentioned that Fowler's plate is the same(RPI-437) as June Darby's? I know its probably because of model reuse, but it may be worth mentioning. -KodanDude

Nemesis Prime's is also the same as Optimus', which is a little hard to explain since he scanned his own altmode. - Starfield 21:28, 9 April 2012 (EDT)
Well, most likely they got the altmode and license plate from the same place they got his robot mode - the scan they took of Optimus back in Convoy. --abates 22:16, 9 April 2012 (EDT)

other then Fowler's plate being the same(RPI-437) as June Darby's? in One Shall Rise part 3 Fowler hugged June (granted the planet was just saved from Unicron) but maybe the two of them are dating each other?

Race

[edit]

Just to piss you guys off, I suggest a race. :3 --75.82.9.197 01:33, 10 April 2012 (EDT)

Shattered Glass?

[edit]

So does noone else think the deco for Nemesis Prime here was a deliberate reference to SG Optimus? Granted, he's never seen in strong, white light, but his primary color seems to vary between a sort of wine red to a dusky purple, varying by scene. Add to that the battered appearance, and it feels like an homage to me. Bitstream 18:31, 11 April 2012 (EDT)

Both Nemesis Prime and SG Prime look similar because they attempt the same idea (desaturated, blue-ened G1 Prime colors), not because one's a reference of the other. --ItsWalky 13:56, 13 April 2012 (EDT)
If only the red and blue colors were in question it could be a coincidence, but with the yellow lights and all those scratches and scuffs? Every visual cue points to a purposeful application of the SG colors on Prime Prime's body. Luke 18:20, 12 August 2012 (EDT)
SG Prime had green lights. --ItsWalky 18:21, 12 August 2012 (EDT)

Quote

[edit]

I think that the Autobots figuring out how Mech created their clone of Optimus and Miko saying "And say hello to Nemesis Prime." should be added to the quotes.71.255.172.248 14:15, 21 April 2012 (EDT)

Running in place

[edit]

There's an error-note in the article about a soldier running in place. I just re-watched this scene because I thought that would be funny. But I'm not so sure that the soldier is running in place. The extreme foreshortening sure makes it seem like he is, but as the camera moves up, you can see that he is indeed moving forward. --Crockalley 17:34, 18 May 2012 (EDT)

I would remove it. --ItsWalky 18:59, 18 May 2012 (EDT)

Silas' HUD

[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that the targeting display, with vulnerable bodyparts lighting up, is similar to videogame displays (Fallout 3, for instance), or is it too generic a style these days to be considered an intentional homage? --Buttbutt 02:36, 9 January 2013 (EST)

Easter Egg/Hidden S3-Predacons Rising Spoilers

[edit]

So we were watching tonight with a roommate who isn't part of the fandom and using the opportunity to look/listen for new details and discovered that the three toy cars the Autobots and kids are watching race around the base are representations of Bumblebee, Smokescreen IN HIS BEAST HUNTERS PAINT JOB before he ever even showed up on the screen in his white one, and Knock Out... who defected to the Autobots in Predacons Rising. This, in the middle of Season 2.

I don't know enough about editing the wiki or what section to put it in, but I feel like that should definitely warrant a mention somewhere. --Slendy 00:18, 11 October 2013 (EDT)

Hrm, the model car in Nemesis Prime is blue with white stripes. Smokescreen's paint job is blue and yellow. I don't think they're the same at all. --abates 01:59, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
Smokescreen in root mode has two white parallel stripes down his chest armor. I'd consider it a fit.--Slendy 09:59, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
I can't check the episode myself right now, but are the model cars actually scaled-down versions of the characters' alt-modes? 'Cause if not, I wouldn't say that three primary coloured toy cars is anything of note. Jalaguy 10:27, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
http://i.imgur.com/RRDrVmZ.png and http://i.imgur.com/i5vvpPe.png if that helps. --Slendy 10:41, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
Not one single car there features a character's deco. --ItsWalky 11:47, 11 October 2013 (EDT)
