Talk:Only Human

Since we happen to be fiddling about with this article and associated concepts at the minute, I thought I'd throw this up here (after a bit of struggle with the uploadification) - it's the original production notes for the episode and it's full of a lot of fun little notes and generally conveys a lot of thought, care and enthuisasm for the episode. I love reading stuff like this, and I particularly enjoy "Only Human" so that doubles the love, but alas, there's very few episodes included in the documentation on the Metrodome DVDs that go into this level of detail. No mention of the Fantastic Four? They're clearly loosely based upon Marvel's family (with Springer looking similar to Ben Grimm rather than The Thing obviously).

Also, whats with the incredibly futuristic buildings? Just another fantasy vision of the future? 84.71.65.127 18:44, 25 September 2009 (EDT)

What we're seeing here is something more common in G.I Joe outlines and scripts. Where detailed descriptions of new character models and locations would be written on separate pages at the front, freeing the writer up to not have to add descriptions in the body of the story. Obviously, TF scripts had a standard cast and locations page, but rarely to this much detail. The only other TF script to front-load this much detail is The God Gambit. That first "note"

[edit]

Just feels way too much like something out of a review for even an informal wiki like this, is it alright if I get rid of it? Flydie 20:02, 31 March 2013 (EDT)

Animation Likely By...

[edit]

I see the speculation is all over the map for this ep's animation. I'm still figuring out who did what for a handful left over, but I'll give you my preliminary finding for this one, because the style seems straightforward here, especially since in my view it's much easier to identify animation featuring human characters. This has all the earmarks of a Sei Young work, beginning to end. Right now I prefer not to get into why I don't rely on things like "models" or "inside-mouth colors" - at least until my guesses are more solid - but what is much more evident is that there are many similarities to other confirmed Sei Young works, such as "Surprise Party" and, as mentioned, certain G.I. Joe episodes (considering "Old Snake", makes sense) and a great many episodes of Defenders of the Earth. That latter series was very helpful. JoseBxR (talk) 21:51, 23 April 2023 (EDT)

Animation Update

[edit]

On further review, I'm quite convinced this is Sei Young (no AKOM involvement, and possibly no Toei), and so there may be a need to edit or remove certain notes in the oddities and observations (so named because you'll probably see more than a few remarks throughout on my issue with certain nitpicks, speculations and silly assumptions characterized as "errors" in animation and "continuity").
